Beer

For an actual American Beer: Samuel Adams.

Right now I'm drinking a Wachusett Winter Ale, a Massachusetts microbrew on sale because it's summer here! Can't stand summer "lighter, wheat" beers, so I'm always up for a winter ale.

My everyday drinker is Labatt Blue, a Canadian beer.

Take care,
PK

To deviate away from the American beer the best I've tasted on these shores is the one and only Caledonian Deuchars IPA. Cracking pint.

Tbh I can't understand anyone who doesn't drink real ale. Proper tasty beer with a suitable amount of carbon dioxide. When I have one of those bud "rip-off" beers I can't help but feel someones spraying a fire extinguisher in my mouth. Plus the small amount of liquid that settles taste it beens carbonated fresh from the Thames.

Lager - the worst thing you can do to a pint.

There are a whole raging Jacobite horde of excellent Scottish real ales. My favourites are anything from Black Isle brewery, Inveralmond, Isle of Skye brewer and Atlas Brewery.

Back home in England, my top three brewers are:

1. Adnams
2. Shephard Neame
3. Fullers

Funny you should mention Adnams. My dad used to work with Mrs. Adnams. Mind you she didn't drink so she wasn't half as much fun as can be expected.

Got to go on a crawl in Scotland at some point and agree with SN (Spitfire is brilliant also) and Fullers.

I'm trying to persuade my friends that it's a good idea to do the Cuillin first and then spend a couple of days (drinking) in Glasgow. But they're wusses and drink **** beer so I'll probably just end up in Glasgow.

The last time I went to Scotland (after watching a match at Murrayfield graveyard) I spent it in Edinburgh, so I want to try somewhere else now.

Hydes is one of the few grand old Northern brewers still around. Good on them for surviving.

Good draught...I'd almost rate it as highly as Guinness. (I'm always so amused by the widget in the bottom of the can to keep it so heady)

Bloody good beer...not just this type of Tooheys, bust most Tooheys make.

Drank half a pint of guinnes last night since the guy who ordered it didn't like it. Then why order it?
Anyway, I agree with what's been said last night, whenever you're drinking guiness it's like you're eating a meal at the same time too.

I still prefer Lager :p

You come from one of the best brewing nations on earth....then say that you like Lager?!

Get out.
