Unwritten Laws of Rugby.

34b. All players who wear number 9 on the back of their shirt must, without fail, make opposing fans and players wish him to die a gruesome death by the end of the game.

Gregan was annoying, but he was a winner - everything he did helped his team. End of.

Careful Nickdnz. Later on in this conversation they'll say you started it. We all know people from other countries never bag NZ on this forum.

Also Shtove, not sure what you mean by consistency please?

Gregan was an all-time great, but definitely did start fights occasionally. End of. Saying "End of" has made me offically right.

No, I'm right. End of end of!

Gregan was as good as it gets. Did the basics, picked the fights, saw the gaps. AB scrummies don't compare. Watery.

No argument with that last comment. We'd be lucky to have a halfback anywhere near his standard right now. Just saying that he started fights too. To say he didn't would be a huge joke. :D

gregan only started fights with the ref......namely jonathon kaplan. :p
someone deleted my previous post about cowan being a tool on and off the field.
mustve been a kiwi moderator!!!

The uncapped prop is WP Nel, the 23 year old tighthead from the Free State Cheetahs. Who was being tipped to be part of the Bok touring squad to be part of the midweek games, but PdV saw fit to play a loosehead prop at tighthead for the 1st time in his career instead, also being his 1st game after recovering from a 6 month knee injury. Anyway I didn't see the game but glad to hear most of the BaaBaa players were hungry for victory. On the NZ side, happy to hear Cory Jane had a good game, he's probably the most natural rugby player I've seen since Christian Cullen. He just has such good instincts. And now my hunt begins to find a copy of this game!

wp nel was good. better give him a cap soon before the ARU target him for an aussie franchise and wallaby contention! :p

I thought he might have had one by the way they had the towel on his nose. it was a highly entertaining game of rugby a great way to end the the abs northern tour. full credit to the baa-baa's they played quite well against an all black team that looked nor played like anything in any of their previous matches on tour. it actually seemed like a reversal of roles with the baa baa's taking it very seriously playing nice often structured rugby and the abs just chucking around and trying all sorts of crazy things like Sivivatu at centere, messam being forced onto the wing etc. for the all blacks though I don't think it ever was seriously going to be about the scoreline (although they would like to have won for sure) but about individual performances to claim a starting jersey next year. some did step up or like jane reaffirm they are world class while others like donald and delaney proved they are simply not at international level.

In Wales center combination Shanklin is different type of player than O'Driscoll or Fourie and Roberts can't show his real impact on game. Very good game, but it seems that All Blacks without their best 15 or 18 players are very average team.[/b]

I disagree, I hardly see Roberts beat the first man for Wales. Doesn't even seem to create those kinda chances for Shanks.

Woah, I never said Gregan wasn't a great player, he is the best half back the world has seen from professionalism, however he in my opinion was just one the those oppersitions who was very lippy and annoying. The "four more years" comment after a victory I thought was a rather ungracious comment, and many players have said while they respect him as a player, they hated him for how he talked on the field. I understand that this is part of being a halfback, however to single out New Zealand halfbacks seems a little unfair considering that Gregan, while being an amazing player, is the personification of why people hate opposite halfbacks.

Wording was chosen carefully to not cause a backlash.

I really enjoyed this game, one of the better games I saw this year. Also pretty happy with the result. The AB defense was quiet tight but Habana managed to break it too often.

Lovely Saturday afternoon

I'm still tipping that All Blacks loss.

Barbarians 22 All Blacks 15

Edit: Yep. Coulda put that money on after all.[/b]

Yeah you could have made some good money! I think the $4.75 the NZ TAB were offering for the Barbarians to win was ridiculously generous - while I'll admit I thought the AB's would have won, I certainly did not believe they were the overwhelming favorites that the TAB was suggesting they were.

Have to agree here Gregan was one of the best players to get under any oppisitions skins lol!! But that made him who he is...And isn't it the half backs task to be like that to upset others!! Jimmy is just learning from Marshall as they both grew up in the same little town in Southland!

Plus this was the best BaaBaa side I have ever seen!!

Yes it was a better baabaa's side compared to the one that played the Wallabies earlier in the year.

The main reason why it was good was because it mainly had Southren Hemisphere players in it they shouldve been called the Southren Hemisphere Barbarians.

All and all same as usual NZ goes over to europe NZ win 90% or over of their games. Same old story at least the european teams are really lifting themselves for the Blacks at home in front of their fans.

I only look forward to France....

Why the issue about the Barbarians having more players from the SH? So what[/b]

Because there's always one idiot who thinks the hemisphere you reside in actually counts for anything.
