IMO, i think this could be the make or break game for some of the fringe guys.

Messam, Afoa, Eaton, Donald and to some extent McAlister as well. With some top players coming back from injury & OE next season, this could be the ideal time for this guys to put one foot in the door and the other foot when the S14 completes next year.[/b]
I can't believe that he has lost his way so much. Look at him first half RWC 2007 QF, he was phenomenal. But with Carter, Nonu and Smith all first choices, McAlister hasnt had a chance to prove in the big matches (forgetting the ones where he was still injured) that he should be at least be wearing No. 21 for the AB's

To be fair though he hasn't been able to put more than a few games together since he's been back in NZ as he keeps getting injured. Once he has a full season of super 14 behind him I think we will truly see what he is capable of (whether he is good enough to getting a starting position for the AB's is another question).

Second half RWC 2007 QF he couldn't win a match that was there for the taking. Very unfortunate for the ABS that they lost Carter, but **** happens and McAlister/Donald couldn't deal with it. Henry must cover that possibility, so this match is a good chance to see how they do.

They can always throw lots of Cash at Nick Evans, who was also injured for the QF I believe?

Anyway, he is still one of the top flyhalves in the world IMO even if he is not playing any test rugby.

Really looking forward to this game. Historically, I think it is the most famous match of all time - whether that is emulated or not!

I agree with alot of the comments here - the barbarians have to find some cohesion very quickly or NZ may just be to organised for them. Looking forward to seeing whether Jamie Roberts can find some form with a different type of centre outside of him.

Was always the first player I purchased in any fantasy rugby league when available

I am skeptical about this combonation; too similar IMO and something SA midfield has suffered from as well with de Villiers and Olivier also not out and out playmakers and Adi also an outside center and also not a playmaker. Fourie is a brilliant finisher, though and if Roberts can pick up the mantel it might get interesting.

what the f*** is up with the nz anthem? sounds like the xfactor

and the english guy is about to have a fit

So, the baa-baa's have a try and have been looking likely to add more the whole time. Definitely should've put money on the baa-baa's as someone told me earlier in the thread.

entertaining 1st half. kindly reminded why mitchell got dumped as a fullback option for the force and wallabies. goodluck with that waratahs.

I'm still tipping that All Blacks loss.

Barbarians 22 All Blacks 15

Edit: Yep. Coulda put that money on after all.

Only time youll hear me cheering on for schalk burger!! You beauty!
that roberts dude is class. Didnt expect the barbarians to take it so seriously. thought they were gonna be half hearted like last year against the wallabies.
So this is what it feels like to beat the allblacks :p

Why can't Roberts play like that for Wales? Alot of good performances from the Barbarian players, only Stephen Moore had a poor game after coming on really. Good game of rugby, the way all games should be played. It wasn't a chuck it around like headless chicken game atall, instead there was a nice balance between attacking and kicking.

What is it with arsehole kiwi half backs that make me wanna kick the **** out of my tv.
first it was marshall then kelleher but jimmy cowan takes it to another level of arseholeness. what a tosser.

Cool match. I'd forgotten what Habana in full flight looks like. Giteau and Roberts had some excellent moments.

Three of the tries came from turnovers in attack out wide - that's why the Saffers are so tight and conservative.

Did the ABs have a straight lineout throw all match? Yes, the first one, which they lost! And their scrum got schooled a few times.

The uncapped Billy Bunter prop really threw himself in. Almost broke through for a try. Screamed in pain when someone tried to help him up after the AB scrum had been destroyed at the very end.
