Argentinian Rugby

I thought it was known, but just to make it absolutely clear, as things stand Jaguares XV cannot ascend to the premier division, even if they win all their games. Same for 2020.
Rules can change, course, but that's how things stand today.

While playing is good if all matches end 50+ diff then there is no point in playing at that level. Taking in acount the costs.

I want to see the jags playing in the Currie Cup Premier division next year. They must hold it the same time as the rugby championships as it has been in recent years so that the international players that are good enough does not take part, instead playing in the RC. This forces development of new players for the next Super rugby season. Then closer to the finals of the currie Cup and when the RC has ended then the coaches can include their internationals if they want. So this could potentially be Argentinian and South African Internationals coming back for the playoffs. And I doubt that the Jags XV coach would just replace his whole starting 23 with the returning international ARG players as it would be a disservice to the ones that got them to the final. Then they can include maybe 4 or 5 returning young internationals. This is the model South African teams currently use in the Premier division. And it really works in creating new talent to counter the Euro departures.

Let's hope Saru and Argentina can organize something. I would like to see defending currie Cup champions the Sharks taking on the Jaguares XV.

jaguares xv won again 122 to 19!!! wtf?
there's a low quality version of the game on espn play

it looks kind of pointless if the team cant get to the cury cup. 122 pts is too much. perhaps everybody thought it would be tighter.
it looks like these guys arent pro. is it so?
are they playng again next year? ill take a miracle for them not to win this

some footage of the game

Si no arreglamos el problema del scrum nos van a coger de parados todos. Ahora, si llegamos frescos, sin lesiones, medianamente afilados y corregimos el scrum, podemos ser la sorpresa del mundial.

What has been the reaction in Argentina to Pumas last two performances?

As far I'm concerned they've been disgraceful and incompetent the last two games
apart from 1st 20 mins in Salta

Urdapilledta looking like a old donkey at #10
33 year old #10 who play slow rugby in France is going to look bad playing
International Rugby which is several levels higher

Pumas better bring a good performance in Pretoria or I'll have serious question of Ledesma

Quesada comes in and takes Jaguares to another level

Then 80% of the same players join Ledesma's setup and apart from a good game vs NZ
have been embarrassing in last 2 performances

Just to showcase how pathetic ARG have been recently:

LOST 16 out of last 18 games
LOST 22 out of last 26 games

Serial Failings - Hourcade was sacked 2 years ago
No excuses now

Yes. The same as you say is what has being saying here.
And the clock is running.

On the other hand, in the First Division of the Currie Cup, Jaguares XV beat Leopards 42 to 10.

Depends a lot on the RWC performance. If that's good then he will keep his job. If they dont well time to change again.

It gets worse Appears that Ledesma is only taking TWO fly halves to Japan

Ledesma is out of his bloody mind!!!!!!!!!! Who'll be 3rd option at #10? Bofelli JC Mallia....

Urdapilletda done nothing at Int'l level to show he's deserving of even being 3rd choice #10

Playing Slow Top 14 rugby in France is several levels below International game

Pumas 2nd choice #10 will be an old + slow 33 years old Bloody Embarrassing

***o Bonilla got screwed over

Pumas are in real danger of not even making it out of their pool Ledesma is losing credibility fast

Diaz Bonilla afuera. Ledesma esta completamente loco.
Isa afuera, Cordero afuera. No me gusta pero lo entiendo, hasta lo comparto. Pero Diaz Bonilla, pobre pibe,

It's a disgrace No logic or planning shown at all
Ledesma is a clown

Isa - best ARG #8 - OUT

Bruni - good player but NOT in Pumas squad for TRC NOW get into squad ahead of Isa
JM Legui- great ARG servant but at BEST 2nd team starter vs USA + Tonga is ahead of Isa

Cordero - best ARG winger missing out is a joke

***o Bonilla been fcuked over - Main player in best season in Jaguares history is
dropped for a old & slow 33 year old #10 who plays stodgy Top 14 rugby

Pumas I expect to crash out in Pool Stages

English & French are laughing at incompetence of Pumas setup
Only lost last 9 games in a row & 16 out of last 18 games

I disagree with half of what you said. I Wouldnt have included Isa or Cordero.
Given our system, it is imperative to prioritize Jaguares/Local clubs over people playing abroad and, most importantly, wingers and third rows are the positions we've got best covered.

I am sincerely sad for Bonilla. I remember all of us scratching our heads when we heard Sanchez was leaving and thinking who could cover his role. He stepped up and did so in spades.
I can't recall the last time he missed a tackled that cost us (directly) in a try. I can tell you 3 from Sanchez out of the top of my head, the last one being when Pollard stomped him 2 weekends ago.

And the message they are sending to the younger kids is terrible too.

I was putting myself in Miotti's place. What incentive does he have to stay in Jaguares now? He's better off going to Europe and earning 2/3 times. If is really good he'll get a place in the pumas anyway.

Still, i have to admit, i believe there has to be something going on outside the field between Isa and Ledesma. Not because of the selection itself but because of the way Ledesma presented it.

And the way Ledesma talked about Urdapilleta....
