I've noticed an interesting trend in the last 3 Lions tours. Every year the team the Lions have gone up against have been the dominant SH side at that time. In 2001 Australia were the best damn team in the whole south. In 2005 the All Blacks were in the middle of a stage where they were virtually unbeatable. And in 2009 The Spring Boks were the force to be reckoned with in world rugby. This trend doesn't look like it's going to come to an end soon either. Australia are currently gearing up to have a bruising international side in 3 and a half years. With Rocky and Pocock at 6 and 7, they have the most promising young back row in world rugby. And with young guns like Will Genia, James O'Connor and Quade Cooper in the backline, Australia look like they're set to give the Lions a torrid time in 2013... assuming the world doesn't end in 2012, which is an outlandish thing to assume.
That's my 2 cents
