It's crazy how successful the right wing media assassination of Corbyn has been.

Like a couple of minutes ago I saw a comment on Facebook by some old woman, which had several hundred likes, saying that corbyn was a traitor and wanted to disband the military and open the borders.
It's all nonsense, but so many idiots just eat it up.

It is baffling. I have seen two videos of Tory's at husting events which should be given more publicity.

One shows Amber Rudd getting another candidate being removed due to being critical of the sales of weapons to Saudi Arabia. The only was a Tory candidate saying she would call the police on a member of the public who had a go at her over her comments that she was proud the UK had food banks.

Also 90% of 2nd or 3rd generation Muslims are not from any middle eastern country under Western Oppression (please name one) they are from Pakistan which is a close Ally of the US and receives very generous aid packages from the West.

I didn't say they were from those countries, they are British born and bred, but their family ties are right through Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan and Lebanon.
The first 5 of those countries receive 'AID' from America in varying degrees. In Egypt, America essentially pays the army. The Egyptian army oppresses their own people, but they get paid to do it.
Iraq is still under occupation.
Afghanistan is still at least partially under occupation.
Palestine is under blockade.
Libya is broken into factions and there is a serious element of lawlessness there.
Follow the money, view the methods of control.
Since the Arab spring uprisings there has been noticeably less tolerance of American funded regimes from indigenous populations.
Modern media platforms are allowing more information to get out and the growth in levels of unhappiness is only leadiing to British Muslims having a more sympathetic ear.
Did you see the reporter who was talking to the terrorists neighbours in Barking?
They said good things about them and when they were asked about their extremism doors were closed, discussion over.
There is plenty of covert sympathy out there.
It's naive to think that there isn't.

Really don't know which way to vote this time.
Let an online quiz tell you: http://38degrees.ge2017.com/shared/Labour/61

Or more seriously, vote labour for their manifesto, rather then their personalities; or Lib Dem / Green if they match better with what you want; or go with the "None of the above" method if none of them actually represent you.

Even ranking is a form of protest if you think something like AV should be used instead.
Yup, that's why I included ranking as being a form of protest

It is baffling.

Not to me.
Any Rupert Murdoch owned broadcasting outlet has nothing good to say about anyone except Teresa May.
The other parties get rubbished.
Corbyn the most.
The BBC has been threatened to be closed down by David Cameron in the recent past,

Small wonder the Beeb hasn't been as representative of Tory short comings as they might have been.

No surprises there... the Tories are looking for more sales in the future. [/QUOTE]

38degrees tends to be a bit biased towards Labour so I wouldn't use that.

Try:
https://voteforpolicies.org.uk/

But honestly look at other things as well the more information you get the less likely that will be biased.

Which is a pretty good way of breaking down manifesto's.

However you also also need to look into independant groups like the IFS (Insitute of Fiscal Studies) about how the manifestos will be paid for.
Part of the problem with just going by policy is you have to also agree the money required will be obtained through their tax measures.

For Instance: I quite like the policies of the Labour manifesto but I don't think they've got the numbers added up due to independant analysis. (I'm also not particularly keen on Union elements of their manifesto).

Shit, 38degrees had me neck and neck labour or green (LD pretty close in 3rd). If they're biased towards Labour, then I should vote Green...
But I've already posted my vote; how can I change it? I now have the result of an online quiz to tell me I was wrong?!?

Stephen Hawking is voting Labour. If an individual who is regarded as the most intelligent human wants a Labour government, then we should follow his lead.

"I'm voting Labour because another five years of Conservative government would be a disaster for the NHS, the police and other public services," he said, after a meeting with Cambridge MP Daniel Zeichner.

""I regard Corbyn as a disaster," he said. "His heart is in the right place and many of his policies are sound, but he has allowed himself to be portrayed as a left wing extremist."

Hey your vote is worth a fart in the wind here anyway you need to move down the road where I've spent all my time. Dear old Lawrence will win regardless.

But the actual reason you shouldn't is the Labour candidate is from out of town (well out of constieutcy which is impressive if you've ever seen the borders) and can't even be bothered to turn up to hustings (neither can Lawrence but hey ho).

The Lib Dem candidate (who is a lovely woman by the way) however works here, was part the borough council leading the Lib Dems and actually sits as a governer on one of our primary schools.

So you could of voted for candidate that actually gives a damn about the area.

I'll follow Professor Hawking if he has something to say about Astrophysics in a heartbeat.

Economics and politics however are not his speciality, extremely intelligent bloke but that doesn't mean he knows what he is talking about in this instance.

Yup, Laurence is going to win regardless, unfortunately*; but Labour have the best chance of giving him a fright. I actually know Cate (the Green candidate), and would have voted for her (well, "none of the above" anyway) normally, and have apologised directly ahead of time. I actually disagree with her on too many things to be happy giving her my madate; but believe that she would genuinely seek to represent her constituents rather than just head office, and would make a good MP.

I believe that Manjinder (Labour) has said that he'd move to the area if elected; and was kinda assigned to us as they had no-one local and no-one was expecting the election to be called yet. I've not met Cait, though she seems to have a decent reputation.

*I've had my... dealings with him personaly before now

That's because he is - in the British political spectrum.

Another terror attack in Paris today.
Some fool attacked a policeman using a hammer.
Outside Notre Dame Cathedral.
The man was shot dead.
(It remains unknown whether he played the organ well or had a hunchback)

Analysts are starting to point clearly at the foreign policy of the west coming home to roost.
Interestingly they are asking if this series of recent attacks is 'blowback' for supporting the crazies who deposed Gaddafi, and were then exported into Syria through Lebanon to fight Assad as 'moderate muslims'.?

I think the history of the constiuetcy shows otherwise but the you gov polls show the area are starting to go the way of Labour being the second party. Which is rather worrying considering they have no presence here. However the snap election basically scuppered plans and we were looking at trying to make a good showing in locals in 2 years time. Coupled by the fact we can actually win Cheltenham countywide its been all hands on deck down there. That means minimum effort (although Caits been working hard and not going to Cheltenham to help out) has been put here (I've leafleted my local council ward but that's it)

The Lib Dems nationally had a 5 year plan and the entire thing was put to tell due to the snap election. We can barely agree a good result.

I agree that historical results have Lab and LD pretty much neck and neck except 2010; but the mood of the town sounds to me like there are only really the 2 parties, with Labour taking a lot of "natural" LD voters, and the tories hoovering up the UKIP lot to add to their usual 55% of voters :(

I think everyone who isn't tory has had their plans scuppered by the unexpected election; and I'm pretty damned sure that both Lib Dem and Labour would be doing a better job of it if they hadn't had to get a manifesto out in double-quick time; had candidates active in the communities (much more Lab than LD) and had a chance to cost things and gauge reactions to proposals. Labour seem to have gotten lucky with their manifesto being so popular off the bat; I don't think they were expecting it to be quite so well received, or for themselves to have the chance to attack rather than being on the back foot all the time. Lib Dem haven't really had a chance to take stock and set a new course properly after 2015 yet; had they had an extra 3 years, I'm sure they'd be putting up a far beter fight.

Not shot dead, he got two in the chest and is in hospital I think. No virgins for the parasite just yet.

No guesses who Sky and Rupert Murdoch are backing. Diane Abbott gave an interview last night had another absolute shocker. Sky News have been looping it all day. Guess they're cranking up their Tory support in the last couple of days before polling.

Absolutely right of sky news to keep showing it Abbott is an absolute joke as would this country be if her and her cohorts end up in power. Honestly has there ever been a thicker politician, I reckon Corbyn kept her in the shadow cabinet because the only way he looks good is when he stands next to her.

While we disagree on Biggar I can't disagree with your assessment of Abbott. She is a complete joke and an embarassment to British politics. Corbyn has made a schoolboy error of the highest order by giving her such a key shadow cabinet position.

In fact, I would much rather see Dan Biggar or Howley as home secretary than her. They wouldn't do any worse.
