A Political Thread pt. 2

More proof that Trump is the Devil incarnate. 👿

Yep

I don't think it is unreasonable to expect something in return for how much the US has put into Ukraine over the past three years. When you look around the world, there is usually some kind of quid pro quo at work whether it is money, metals, bases or intel when it comes to foreign aid. I 100% am in favor of giving Ukraine military aid but it isn't free and should not be seen as a handout.

Europe has put considerably more money in aid into the Ukraine than the US.

We (Europe) should come first.

Trump won't accept that of course, as far as he is concerned everybody should be beholden to him.

Europe is a continent, not a single nation.

Why should Trump accept that? He is not there to advocate or secure deals for Europe's nations. In this scenario he should first and foremost, secure and advocate the best for America. It's like hiring a lawyer. You hire the one that is going to represent and fight for you, not the one that is nicest or going to step aside for others.

Hmm...I thought I ignored you already. Guess I clicked the wrong button.

Trump doesn't do what's best for the USA though, he does what's best for him and anyone he wants to enrich.

In what way does bowing to dictators and throwing allies under the bus help the USA? He's destroying every alliance the USA has excluding the one with Israel.

There are times I don't always agree or understand the moves Trump makes and when it comes to foreign policy, I often think that he and others in the Republican party are very isolationist and short sighted. That being said, when it comes to the idea of extracting concessions from Ukraine to make a deal in order for the US to obtain precious metals in exchange for the money that's been given, that is something that helps America and secures those metals. What has he done in the last three weeks that has not helped the US? Some of his decisions have not played out yet so it is hard to gauge their outcome as of right now.

What dictators has he bowed to and in what way?

So Russia invades Ukraine and the only way for them to fight back is to be bent over a barrel by their "allies"? Remember he was blackmailing Ukraine for dirt on Biden last time before the invasion happened. By all means if the USA wants to become isolated again then they can but Trump isn't looking to become isolated, he's following one of the most confrontational US foreign policies in history.

What has he done that hasn't helped the USA? Are you serious? Let's see:
- Turning every non-Israeli ally against them
- Initiated a trade war with the entire world
- Broken the law multiple times
- Installed another power-crazed megalomaniac illegally into a position where they are just sabotaging all aspects of the federal government
- Introduced mass instability with his bull in a china shop illegal acts
- Caused mass resignations
- Emptied the water reserves in California that were intended to irrigate farmland during the summer whilst doing nothing to prevent the fires. Also using the entire disaster to attack political opponents rather than trying to unite the country
- Mucked about with funding for a whole load of important services that people rely on and essentially threatened to simply not keep these services running
- Dismantled foreign aid. Contrary to far right beliefs, most aid is distributed because it's believed to prevent even more costly issues later on and is a tiny fraction of the total US budget.
- Dismantled research grants
- Dismantled all watchdog agencies intended to oversee and audit federal departments to prevent impropriety
- Given a completely unvetted individual access to everyones personal information and locked important civil servants out of the systems
- In the process of removing agencies that were investigating Musk and his companies for illegality or impropriety
- Undercut the agency responsible for airline safety, forced out the head of the agency and seen 2 mis-air collisions (the first in decades)
- Used said tragedies he likely played a role in to again divide the nation and attack political opponents
- Arbitrarily called for a new network to lose a broadcast license because he doesn't like them, flying in the face of the 1st amendment among other things
- Sabotaged any hope of a 2 state solution and called for ethnic cleansing of Gaza, destroying any credibility the US has as protectors of human rights
- Freed thousands of Jan 6th criminals simply because they support him
- Installed oligarchs into all positions of power
- Threatened to withold aid to states that don't support him
- Made it illegal to have any sort of DEI policies and forcing people out of work who had any DEI training, despite his last administration continuing DEI training and many of those being forced out got said training during his last term.

That's not even exhaustive and in only 3 weeks and you seriously sit there and ask wtf he has done to not help the USA? I cannot for a second believe you are discussing in good faith if you ask such a bullshit question.

What dictators has be bowed to? Well let's see, Putin by ceding any pretence that he's going to front up to him? Kim Jong Un he has praised. Name a single world leader Trump has praised of his own free will that isn't a dictator or criminal.

...dont mean to be that guy but "Aid"...is normally free, at least superficially... kind of its defining aspect...if you have to pay for it then you're employing them...are the US military all mercenaries now?

He was relatively nice about Starmer which surprised me tbh.

"I like him a lot, he's doing a great job" etc, etc.

Still it's all with a pinch of salt, as the guy speaks with forked tongue having just shafted everyone on steel. Plus it's like a wolf praising a rabbit for having nice fur.
