A Political Thread pt. 2

We are the extremely wealthy and ped abusing older brother who hasn't taken his bipolar medication for 24 years.
Also, we don't need one because we're the wimpy little kid who runs to his big brother (USA) to fight our battles for us.
Little brother the USA is out fabulously wealthy land more "successful" little brother.

Or we're a deadbeat Dad.

After this public inquiry.

Hopefully the inquiry finds that the Govt shouldn't have to wait for a TV series to be released in order to investigate scandals like this (basically forced into it because doing nothing would have cost them some political capital) and should get it's finger out a bit earlier.

What's disgraceful is various people in power now and years ago are only now talking because of a TV show. Average joe public didn't give a toss either. Dispite this scandal being nearly 20 years or more old.

I don't think this is a single government issue as successive governments did nothing about it. The fact Fujitsu and the Post Office are only now taking it seriously is the real problem. Various players be it Starmer at the CPS/DPP and Ed Davy Post Office minister, Gordon Brown are all pleading ignorance. Lots of people now have some very difficult questions to answer. The justice system, various government ministers and Post Office all have a case to answer

What seems to make this government more culpable is that from the way I read it, at least some part of the government was aware of these meetings in 2014.

Agree past Govts are also culpable to some degree. I would argue the media are more culpable than Joe Public who are relatively powerless with these kind of things. The media have the power to keep things in the news and can do when it suits them or their political friends..

It's also election year. Good timing to get a major injustice seen to.

Might be wrong but the inquiry has been on going from 2020. The pandemic caused the issue. Same as the police were actively investigating it from around then as well.

Another Brexit victory, the whole world will be tripping over themselves to get fantastic deals with us, we hold all the cards...

Just amazing that anyone really believed that crap.
Its the germans still want to sell cars to use agruement. Its simplistic but struggles against reality when poked with a stick of critical analysis.

"We won't be bound by EU red tape", unless you want to trade with the EU at which point you'll still be bound by it and your probably additional red tape.

I ordered trainers from Reebok (the UK website )and ended up returning a pair. As it was being shipped to a warehouse in Holland I had to print off four pieces of A4 customs declaration/ pro forma invoice documents and attach one to the outside of the parcel (inside a plastic envelope) and the rest inside. Another benefit of taking back control.
