A Political Thread pt. 2

I couldn't care less about most of the whys and wherefores.

But I cannot compute why someone who has kicked off about personal security concerns would openly talk about his number of Taliban kills. Definitely stupid, possibly downright reckless. I hope there are no serious consequences for either him or others.

I'm just sick of seeing this shite being reported in the media. It is playing into their hands as they try to sell books and a Netflix series. Just plain stupid and reckless to be bragging about something like this after he complained about the lack of police/security for his family when they visited the UK last year. Self entitled toffs playing the victims is wearing very thin.

Still a long way to go to beat the record of 133 rounds and 2 months.

Get the popcorn out in the meantime.

Senator Greene is now accepting draft legislation from the finest twitter troll accounts. Though she should should know that she's an alumna (or alumnus since it's 2023).

This means that the T1302 road from Bakhmut to Lyschansk is in Russian hands all along it's length (though Ukraine have fire control over much of it), and the Russians would now have fire control over part of the T0513 road from Bakhmut to Siversk.

So much for a Christmas truce.

Another shooting. Not going to go into gun regulation as it seems for too many Americans no amount of deaths will ever be enough.

So how about approaching the situation differently. How about passing laws on responsible ownership. So in this example where a 6 year old has got access to a gun, the gun owner is held responsible for not safely storing their gun. At the moment I assume it's the parents, but anyone who owns the gun. I realise this isn't perfect as many guns are not registered, but even if it's not always possible to prosecute maybe the threat of jail will make more people lock their guns away safely?

Not good news at all. I think the additional troops Russia are now getting from their mobilization are starting to count. Also there is the treat of troop build ups in Belarus which could mean a second strike to Kyiv.

Not really that surprised. I thought it was a bit too quiet from Bolsonaro supporters straight after the election result announcement.
I was reading the BBC coverage and one reporter suggested that before the storming the protest was just like any other. I wonder if there was a lapse in security and this was entirely opportunistic.

Depends. Can't see it being one person just going "oh look there is a lapse in security let's all rush in." Bound to be some co-ordination online or via messaging beforehand the security services failed to pick up or deliberately didn't act on.

Is anyone else finding GPgate mildly hilarious? Of course Sunak with his his vast wealth has private medical plans but the bloody idiots couldn't just straight up admit it and move on and has turned it into a story.

Streisand effect. I dislike the Tories intensely but, had he admitted he used a private GP, I wouldn't have held that against him. I'd go private if I could afford it. Sure it's a 2 tier system but there you go, that is the way in even the best systems.

He's always got the problem that hes so fabulously wealthy and always has been about whether he can really understand the issues people are having but having a private GP doesn't increase or decrease that factor.

I'd be amazed if most MPs didn't have some kind of private health care insurance.
