A Political Thread pt. 2

I heard some commentator on Sky news this morning say that Hunt is now effectively the caretaker PM as he has Truss by the whatever and has already made noises about implementing the opposite of what she promised i.e. Sunak's pledges. The situation is untenable and she is already in the departure lounge.

Looks like Ukraine have started new offensives - renewed in Kherson and new Zhaporizhzhia, including softening up the southern bank on the East-West section of the Dnipro lake bit (apologies for the technical and accurate regional names).

Presumably the first phase would be to encourage Russia to use what resources they currently have in the area, now that the Kerch Bridge upgrading to slipway, means that they can't resupply in bulk

Won't she face a cabinet crisis soon? Who would want to be associated with this disaster?

I have to say the January 6 committee can't produce drama like this.

Explosion Reaction GIF

Live video from Truss' cabinet meetings.

Btw, Liz Truss needs to survive another 81 days to get off bottom in terms of time served.

Hasn't he already been paid millions for them? What is he on about?

The replies are so unhinged as well

Starting to redeem himself

I'm convinced the guy has bipolar or some sort of disorder (other than his autism which is already known). He keeps having these wild swings between completely contradictory positions in the space days, even hours.

Believe the medical name is Toryitis.

On Musk - I don't know the answer to these questions:
The oft-quoted $20M pcm figure - is that cost, or "would cost on the open market"?
Is it "Musk / SpaceX are spending $20M pcm" or "Musk / SpaceX have provided $20M pcm of services, mostly paid for by the US, UK and EU governments"?

Even if it's $20M pcm from Musk personally - he "earns" $13,000M per month - so it's the equivalent of someone earning £26k (more or less average wage in the UK) per year making a monthly donation of £3.33

He has Asperger's on the autistic spectrum.

It seems that one of the main problems is that the energy support scheme is far too expensive as it applies to everyone including rich people and big business and will last for two years. Surely they could have slimmed it down and made it more targeted on those who need it most or is that too much work. They're paying for it by cutting spending on the NHS and other public services. Utter madness.

Feature, not a bug
