A Political Thread pt. 2

Looks like the last couple of days' action not only captures the railway hub at Kupyansk, but brings another major rail artery into range, heading SSE from the hub at Valuyki, and heading to Luhansk

Lots of reports from Kharkiv oblas that Russian troops have left, but Ukrainian haven't arrived yet; and of Ukrainian troops arriving to find the Russians have already run away. Which lends credence to this:

Some Russians though, like living dangerously - let's hope they don't pass any high-rise building in the next week

Bizarrely quiet on Ukraine today so far. Not even news about Kherson. Seems politicians and political aids posting about Lysychansk in Luhansk region was either over excitement or deliberate misinformation to try and get Russia to hesitate about sending anything towards Izyum direction while Ukraine consolidated.

Putin reportedly opening a Ferris wheel in Moscow while Kharkiv region was being 'lost' apparently hasn't gone down well with some of the natives.

Might want to do some reading up on the corporate structure of the royal family and their holdings
wow, passive aggressive

it was fairly clear we were just talking at a very high level cursory way, the "you might want to..." was unnecessary

I actually have a degree in surveying specialising in the cadastre and land tenure...so cheers....at a high level cursory way....compulsory acquisition of land is done in the name of the crown, reverting ownership of said lot to the crown or government that has been formed to operate in the name of the crown. yes...there is more to it but its not surprising that property owned by a member of the royal family is exempt from compulsory acquisition

wasn't passive

but a fair amount of the property owned by the royal family is not owned in their royal capacity. Balmoral castle is owned by Charles III the individual not the crown estate. Furthermore the duchies of Cornwall and Lancaster hold the unique properties of being privately owned by royals but also being tax exempt (the royals have voluntarily paid taxes since the 90s).

The royals are allowed to act as both a private individual and a tax exempt royal body. The private individual is rather free from the meddling of the government and then they are able to profit more than the average person is due to their tax empt status. Parliament exercising their right to eminent domain over any of the family members' private land/ other holdings would not be swapping the those assets from crown to crown. It would be transferring the land from Charles III/ William to the crown.

ok...so just deliberately aggressive then? cool

its a lot closer to transfer from crown to crown than it would be for joe bloggs having their land compulsory acquired, you have just broken down how the royal families properties are treated differently to your average persons

their private holdings might not be held in exactly the same capacity as as those that are owned for public use say....but they are definitely held and treated differently to those owned by your average person...and so not surprising they are exempt from compulsory acquisition

what you've said is obviously correct if we're drilling down much deeper than the two sentences we'd had before...just not sure why the dickish ....Ackchyually...i think you'll find
