A Political Thread pt. 2

Boris Johnson going to sell the EU deal as a Christmas miracle....
Were haggling of species of fish for what appears to be half a day now.....

Yeah he will, but we have to accept this is best situation we are going to find ourselves in for the conceivable future.

According to a conservative politician the feeling in the ERG is that Britain has conceded some areas of it's sovereignty for this deal.

The ERG won't be satisfied by anything they're a death cult hellbent on destroying this country.

No @ncurd , I don't think we are innocent (never said that) and don't think we are better than someone. But I don't think we,as a nation, worse than someone (see the difference?). Everyone has dark sides, imagine, not only Russians. And not only Russians should be ashamed of what they/their government are doing.
And here I think I end this discussion from my side, but it was a pleasure to read what do some people here think about my country (and not only government and those who support them). Thank you :)

Think you need to read the article whataboutism as I didn't accuse you of saying Russia was innocent. In fact the description doesn't mention innocence at all just deflection by calling out hypocrisy which is exactly what your engaging in.

Sometimes I ponder why we seam to only ever have one person who exhibits troll/bot qualities in this thread at a time and then after that ones leaves/gets banned another one comes around.

@ncurd I'm not a troll, sorry if sounded like that  not a bot, absolutely real person (Yulia Stogelitskaya) , never had an account on this forum before. Just tried to share my opinion in this thread, but if you think I am trolling..well,ok, I won't write in this thread at all,no problems

Thought you didn't want to engage anymore...

Ah I forgot your entire schtick is to engage in whataboutism or to play the victim can't do that if actually shut up. You don't actually want to engage at the topic at hand you want to deflect it away rather than share an opinion. And if your opinion boils down to "well others did it" its less of opinon and more of a shrug of the shoulders, the lack of one or at least of one that merits talking about. Why is what Britain has done is near to historic past even relevant? Have you actually got a point? Its equivalent of gong "I know you are but what am I" that of a petulent child. Its not an interesting conversation it just derails it and I know you have no interest in actually engaging on it because every time in last 24 hours someone says this you just go back to your original point with nothing new, no explanation.

Russia is bad but Britain has also done bad things. That is it, dull and uninteresting, no point to it at all.

Now onto actual politics.

Remains to be seen exactly how tariff free this free-trade deal is and at what costs including read tape. However I will say this rather begrudgingly if it really is ""We have signed the first free trade agreement based on zero tariffs and zero quotas that has ever been achieved with the EU." I am impressed our negotiators managed it in the time they had on their hands.

Oh, I have just noticed that. Although @Tallshort replied that we never invaded Georgia.
And to add something about invasions during recent times
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Telic
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...t-without-the-iraq-war-there-would-be-no-isis

But only Russians are bad and should be ashamed, of course.
You keep misrepresenting the point being made and, as NCurd pointed out, you are engaging in whataboutism. Nowhere have you admitted that using Novichok or carrying out political assassination is wrong, you just try to deflect to things Britain has done to avoid having to come to terms with what Russia is doing. This is the standard way of operating in Russia and I'm disappointed you seem to want to engage in this too. Trying to point the finger at someone else in no way reduces Russia's culpability. Also nowhere have I said ONLY Russia should feel bad, however only Russia is carrying out political assassinations in mine and neighbouring countries using chemical weapons.

I find it laughable that you bring up the invasion of Iraq etc, I have on multiple occasions said that was completely wrong of us, led to more problems than it fixed and we should not have been there. You can't seem to bring yourself to say it is wrong for Russia to carry out political assassinations, wrong for Russia to invade Georgia, wrong for Russia to annex Crimea, wrong for Russia to have a permanent military presence in Eastern Ukraine, wrong for Russia to have shot down a civilian aircraft, wrong for Russia to have carried out a massive hack, wrong for Russia to have interfered in the elections and wrong for Russian mass doping. Your response to all of these is to try to point the finger at someone else and play the victim. The fact that that other countries, my own included have carried out actions we should be ashamed of doesn't in any way mean Russians should be less ashamed of what their country is doing, yet you seem to think it does.

I didn't want to make this personal, I was addressing the actions of the government. You are the one who made this about me as an individual. I was referring to current events, you and Tallshort made this about past crimes.

The fact that Boris wore a fish tie for that presser will never not be hilarious to me.

Add to that that it appears at least to be a great deal!

Great is a lose term it's better on surface than I expected them to get but the best deal in my eyes was to stay in the EU.

A Downing Street source said: "We have taken back control of our money, borders, laws, trade and our fishing waters."

Lads, you got it through, it's happening, you can cut this bullshit lol.

None of the parties in Northern Ireland are happy with the deal. DUP hate the Irish Sea Border and the rest of the main parties wanted to remain.

Wales First Minister say it's not what was promised https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-55435491

SNP in Scotland are not happy with the deal https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/nicola-sturgeon-blasts-disastrous-brexit-23216196.amp

Hardly taking back control of the fish when there is a 5 year transition and EU vessels still get to fish in UK waters.

EU officials which be present at the Irish Sea Border for customs purposes, in Northern Ireland.

Taken back control of the trade, yet have to follow EU regulations on products (if I'm wrong correct me).

Still going to need to follow EU rules to be allowed into their security network group.

Seen a lot of people online who previously suggested No Deal was the only Brexit, but now claim this deal is the true Brexit.

It's not as hard as I thought it would be, and not as soft as it could be. It's a middle brexit.

One thing I thought was telling was the difference in the speeches by UK and EU leaders. Ursula von der Leyen provided a great speech. Boris Johnson was full of soundbites and embarrassing - take the fishy tie for example.
