Those justices said under oath they would respect the precedent of Roe vs Wade. Lying under oath is a CRIME. ******* right wing fanatics across the west are tearing down all rules, breaking the law, restricting rights, lying, cheating, being violent... Absolute scum. Anyone on the right who supports the likes of Johnson, Trumpians, Farage, Le Pen etc you can shut the **** up, YOU are the problem, YOU are the ones destroying society and tearing down the rule of law.

To think some of you will have the gall to complain about strikes when you look at all the damage right wing demagogues are causing across the west.

A friend has said he recently heard an interview about a book or a study that he thought was called something like "The Kleptomania Economy", I can't find it, maybe some of you are familiar with it. The guy being interviewed said that after the Roe v Wade decision murders in the US dropped by 30%, because people didn't murder inconvenient girlfriends and spouses and babies. He suggested that if Roe was overturned, Americans should expect about a 50% increase in the murder rate over the next couple of years.

Where the fuk have you been for the last 30 years?

The main things the courts are interested in are lining the pockets of the judiciary and law society. Finding justice is a very distant 3rd. At best.

I know freakonomics made similar observations and had a chapter about it in their book.

Definitely but this is cut and dry, they lied under oath and there is video evidence of that. There isn't even a defence that could be mounted.
 
The anti-abortion lot are so weird.

the amount of them who claim science is on their side when not a few months ago the same dumb fucks said that scientists should be given treason over how they wanted to deal with covid

As you well know there are crimes* and there are crimes**

*perpetrated by those in power.
**perpetrated by everyone else.

The two are worlds apart. One can usually be sorted with a further lie (i.e. empty apology) the other... well...
 
Tbh while all of this is terrible, it's not what America should truly be worried about. We know the country is divided and politics is broken. The issue is like January 6th where groups decide to change the democratic decisions by force. What is very scary is the increase in large militia groups who are often extremely well armed, training in military tactics. If they decide to use force then it would be very bloody and could escalate extremely quickly.

TBH, I don't think Trump has an idiological position on anything other than enriching Trump.

He's anti-abortion because his base is anti-abortion, and appealing to them is all that matters.
IIRC he also suggested increasing gun control at some point, before being told in no uncertain terms that that wouldn't be popular with his base.

Like a lot of Right-Wing "Libertarians" he's pro whatever get him into power and pro rules are for the little people.

He's certainly paid for people to have abortions and there is a rumour his own daughter had a teenage pregnancy she had aborted. So yeah he's pro choice for himself.

The supreme court is now just barrelling through all the far right religious nutjob stuff and pushing it through, the Republicans have made a complete farce of all the rules, regulations, agreements, precedents etc just to force their will on everyone else. We aren't see it this badly in this country yet but we are getting perilously close with such a huge segment of the population who are ok, even outright supportive of ******** over all the laws and norms of society to get their way. Integrity means absolutely nothing now, the right have headed down the "win at all costs" route, sinking to the lowest levels whilst demanding the left live up to the highest standards.
