Yeah but we did get the best part of the platty joobs because of it.
I think a vote of confidence will happen and I think Johnson will win it and everything will go on like nothing has happened. TBH at this stage I want Johnson to win, I feel the Tories showing that, when push comes to shove, they will still support him will hopefully harm them in the next election.Partygate: Will Boris Johnson survive June?

Really interesting listening to a Tory pollster on Sky News. Basically Johnson has gone Corbyn. Announce a popular policy it's goes well, stick Johnsons name on it the policy is hated. He has an extremely loyal core group of voters but just about all swing voters hate his guts.
May only lost a third of MPs and was essentially mortally wounded and gone in 6 months but that wasn mainly by mot being able to get Brexit through parliment. Johnson won't leave on his volition though so we'll end up with him limping to electoral disaster.I watched that. It was also suggested that if Boris wins tonight but the margin is tighter than Theresa May's VoC win in 2018 then he's toast regardless of the one year immunity rule.

Honestly don't think it will make much difference a 2/3 majority is a (rightly) high threshold to make and don't really see a sitting PM ever loosing it. Its the only way of removing him as he won't resign so there is still hope but I don't think it ever had much chance of succeeding as the threshold has taken so long.I think it's too early. I don't think he'll lose. They should have waited until the by-elections as Conservatives are likely to lose them.
