[2023 Six Nations] England Squad

Andy Hazel pretty good 7 for Glarcstuur...and Nick Wood loosehead.

Matt Mullan...who made the best tackle by a prop ever by chasing and dive tackling James hooker down the wing.

Tom May...class act for the falcons...could play anywhere in the backline.

Fun one but thought whilst we are mid game week break, i had a think about who i would consider my underrated XV. Some may be debatable but tried to think of players i've seen in the flesh.

Went for: Corbisiero , Mears, Collier, Parling, Attwood, Rees, Worsley, Morgan, Robson, Cips, Flutey, Abbott , Simpson-Daniel, Wade, Abendanon

Would love to see some other players/picks people would suggest.... I literally have nothing else to do when non test week and with Wasps not doing anything.
What about Steffon Armitage? Or doesnt he count as he chose to play outside England

Was he really that good? I got the impression with him that he was one of those guys that was hyped up beyond his actual skill.

For me it would be Kvesic.

I think Ben Spencer deserves a mention here, especially given that a lot of his career overlaps with Youngs.

TBH I think William Pitt the Elders career overlaps with Youngs.
Think There's actually only 3 years difference between Youngs and Spencer tbf, we just think it's more as he has accumulated caps regardless of form for club or country.

Borthwick wants his cake and to eat it.
Would he be backing that if he was coaching Tigers still?

Out of all the leavers so far LCD is the only nailed on 23 player.
Would Marchant have signed if Eddie had given him a fair crack?
Sam Simmonds really is always going to be at best a bench player.
Ribbans didn't get picked by Borthwick originally

If the RFU change the selection then I guess the PRL shouldn't be agreeing with any contracts to let players become available for non international windows as the French would there players.

Would Borthwick then complain about selection availability? Or the RFU about lost revenue from those games not being played?

The clubs will never sign off on it - and if the RFU forced it you've gotta think that the PRL payments will increase drastically as why should the clubs let England have all their players when they've already lost a load of their best ones abroad

This is a big thing as well - those games are pure money spinners, jeopardise that and it's a big chunk of change

So for me Parling who turned up, nailed a first team spot down and then just disappeared again. Think he's a forwards coach in Aus now. Hands down one of the best line out operators that England had and part of the reason he played for the Lions.

Mad to think that he was called up to Saxons in 2010, then England 2012 before making Lions debut in 2013. 29 England caps and 3 Lions caps. Such a short international career when you think how good he was at one point.

I'll never forget that tap tackle on Jesse Mogg either. Resulted in one of the great rugby photos.
