2023-2024 transfers

Healy's boot alone is such an asset. Sad to lose him but it's fully expected too. Can't begrudge him leaving either, the Irish 10 competition is already very crowded.

Jack Nowell leaving Exeter
Really hate to say it because I absolutely love Nowellsy but I do think it's a good thing that he's moving on. Between his awful string of injuries and being away with England he just hasn't been bringing as much worth to the club as his salary demands. Wish we'd held onto O'Flaherty.

Nevertheless, despite his recent England form, he's been a great great player for us. I genuinely don't think that we would have won either of our Prem ***les or the Champions Cup if he hadn't been on the field.

Any rumours of where he'll go?
I'm guessing somewhere coastal in France (Toulon? Perpignan? No shortage of sea access in the top 14 tbf) - but I dunno, just doesn't seem the kind of wing that French clubs would want

Also confirmed

Stooke to Montpellier
Oghre to Bordeaux
Langdon to Northampton

Also expected that Kilbrigie, Cardall, Billy Kucera (Academy), Harry Craven (Academy) have all headed to Australia for a year.

I'm assuming Langdon was pretty good at Sale. Tbh I don't really know much about him.

Yeah, very - only left because of contract timings (he was out of contract and none of our other hookers were - I think we expected Ashman to leave for Scotland after he got capped but he stayed put so we had too many on the books). I was gutted when he left, felt like our biggest loss since Haley/Addison went to Ireland

Wouldn't necessarily say there's anything world class about him but he's good at everything, and is consistent - which is what you want from a tight 5 player imo. Doesn't matter if you carry like a centre if you can't hit the side of a barn at the lineout

I'm surprised Robbie Smith hasn't played a bigger part for saint's. He was highly rated up here.....

Another good signing by Saints - though a little surprised they've plumped for a 12 when they've got Dingwall
Odendaal won't be on £1m a year or anything but he'll be on decent money after catching people's attention with how he played for Wasps

Dingwall and Hutchinson both play/ cover 12 and we have a raft of options at 13 but the only thing I'd add is that both Dingwall and Hutchinson do seem to be injured a lot.

Tom Wills to Saracens confirmed from the 23-24 season.
Good signing for them, i think that should make him eligible, same as Mercer as long as you have a signed contract with a prem club for the following season. I know he id atm due to Wasps i just mean in general

Pretty sure he was eligible anyway. RFU said they'd make exceptions for Wasps and Worcester players who had to go abroad.

I said he was in the last line of the post ypu quoted. Granted it is contradictory to what i said towsrds the start of the post.

i just mean in general i think if a player chooses to have a sabatical away from the prem, he should be eligable if signed(next season) for an English club. Maybe a few conditions/exceptions.

I like the rule to play for England but think players should have a bit more freedom

Englands back row options over the next few years are gonig to be incredible.

Danny Wilson to Tigers till end of season to help Wigglesworth.

Gives stock to a certain Scottish head coach coming next season, who was very good friends with Wilson
