2023-2024 transfers

Can't think of any outstanding Irish talent not playing on our shores. In fact Munster have dragged some lost sheep in recently.

Ahh no, I was hoping he stayed. Never seen a player buy in to the club so hard. Was a bit doubtful with the presence of Farrell, Goggin and eventually Arnold.
By the way McCarthy to Narbonne (my old French team) is confirmed. All the best Big Mike. I'll never forget you treating Etzebeth like a lawn mower.

He is staying

That championship team next season.........

Feel for the clubs that will play against them.

Not a championship side yet.

Realistically though I agree, if you step back and look at what's coming into the club this summer;

A very good coach who gets the best out of players
Some very good signings with more to come
Promising academy players showing plenty of potential
Top class training facilities under construction
A playoff-less Championship so all things going well it'll be a 1 year hiatus
And perhaps more importantly, all the lessons and experinces we have learnt this season.

Its not the doom and gloom that others may want people to believe

And on the subject of Madigan, I'm pleased to have him in. We need a 10 badly as it's still unconfirmed where Henson will play next year, Sheedy signed on for longer too aswell which is a very good thing

Ye need a 10 and sign Madigan.
Thats like not wanting to get pregnant yet using a condom rubbed on a hedgehogs back. And paying a huge wedge.
That condom may work but history isn't suggesting it will

No its not, its an European standard 10 with two HEC's, two pro 12's and a challenge cup who has performed to RWC level, has an 87% kicking ratio and won't play internationals... Not a bad investment.

Again show me 1 set of games where he was main man in those HECs, Pro12s, Challenge Cup. Even all media here have said it lately. You might not agree but as Brian O'Driscoll said every coach couldn't be wrong and for whatever the reason every record shows he could never hold down the 10 shirt.
I agree he's a top class goal kicker but just he's not a high class 10 and well again this is shown by fact he's never shown it at European level he's been a consistent 10. Not disputing he's a good player. Just majority in Ireland think he's notba good 10 and I tend to agree. And that's not even Munster fans. Girv Dempsey politely said Leinster wouldn't want him during week, Connacht said no. My point was if he was as good as made out then why did noone only Northampton or a relegated elect club have any interest. Reports tonight said he was practically pimped out and the levels of rejection were fascinating.
Loke again you say RWC level where as I'd say he played well in a game vs poor France team where everything went well for everyone. But was horribly bad vs Argentina as was others. Which is my point he's never shown consistency.

Look we will all disagree but not 1 article in media was praising him as a 10. Nearly all were of what a wasted talent and what ifs etc and "why couldn't he ever be a starter".

Pretty sure he wom the golden boot in at least one of the pro12 wins if not both... He's getting paid half a million a year. Hardly unwanted, he's either been behind Sexton or in incompetent set ups his entire career. Leinster's best performance under MO'C was against Northampton away, Mads was 10, started 6 games before injury in UBB, won 5, everything went to **** in both set ups when he was dropped. Bristol have not signed a bad 10, Pat Lam would not pay half a mil for a bad 10, he might not be needed in Ireland because we have two better options and two not far behind who have age on their side but to say he's a bad 10 shows no understanding of the position whatsoever.

As for the media, they're the same guys who were calling for him to start under MO'C sooooo...

Again I'm not arguing he's a goal kicker thats what golden boot is. On wages fair play to agent for getting him £500k for a year in Championship. Again I don't remeber him or the performance vs Saints and don't argue it but as I said for whatever reason he has never been consistently at 10 under any coach. Schmidt picked Keatley over him vs Italy few years ago openly stating it was because of Madigan kicking game as a 10.
You say everything wentbto **** in both set ups when he was dropped but I'd disagree as again he was never the main 10 at Leinster and at UBB he wasn't either.

As I said nearly 99.9% of media experts and ex players are saying what I am. Doesn't mean I'm right or they are but shows alot do think like me in he's a good player but not a good 10.

I'd say Jackson Sexton Blenyendaal and Carbery are much better 10s now and I'd be inclined to add Byrne too (who I think is going to be better than Carbery).

And while I don't agree with this alot are saying he's happy going Championship as he knows he far off a top 10 and wants to learn and regrow.

Media "experts" are criticising him for not starting in teams that they criticised the coaches for selection. An agent can't polish a turd, he'll only get half a mil if someone is willing to pay and Lam, a man who can do no wrong over here, is one of them. Bris and Lam over Saints and Mallinder is a great decision for a guy who knows he won't play international rugby. All of this rubbish of him being a bad 10 started when he left Leinster yet a lot of our media "experts" still wanted him in the first 6n squad ahead of Keatley... He'll do very well at Bris and I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the Champions Cup in his third year.

Again it's all a matter of opinions. Maybe he will do well and prove alot wrong. I openly don't rate him as a 10 but it's simply what people look for. I think he hasn't a kicking game or vision of a 10. You probably disagree and that's fair. You've a point on media guys and I don't dispute that. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

Back on Coulson. A fabulous young irish player who will boost Connacht

Harsh. I'll remember his brace of tries in the Pro 12 final win over Glasgow.

Looked good whenever he played 15 and can hit a line well. Decent player who'll be a good signing for Dragons.

I don't think so, he was reasonably solid but apart from that final and Thomund a couple years ago when he showed why he was a Springbok he was never great, never really let us down but everyone knew he wasn't worth the price tag.

If you went around the RDS now and asked people if they knew who David Holwell, Ollie le Roux, Will Green or even Stan Wright were I think you'd be doing well if 1 in 3 did and they were all better imports. Leinster fans are pretty quick to forget foreign players unless they reach Felipe, Rocky or Isa levels! More of an observation on Leinster fans than Kirchner who provided depth in positions we were thread bare in at times. He's also likely to have been around for a relatively baron period of Leinster rugby which will hopefully be followed by more fruitful times!

The thing is he was 1 of lowest paid NIQs the last year. I thought he's looked decent as a 13 doing the role covering when internationals are away.
Any true fan remembers thise Alpha. I don't support Leinster and remember them.

Jaysus 4 years at the club coming up and he'll be forgotten? Ruthless. There's a funny thread on complete journeymen Munster players of the past on Munsterfans, but they're guys like Amorasino. Old Zaney lives around the corner from me when I'm home. His contribution at neighborhood cleanups will be missed. Think the dogs were left to do a few ****s in his garden after he illegally assaulted Sweetnam.

Let me change it to remembered fondly. He'd have to play every game and have Leinster reach both finals to have an average of 20 games a season for us which isn't great for an NIQ! He's not going to be a Lote Tiquiri, a grade above Andrew Goodman maybe, a solid but uninspiring squad player, should sure up the Dragons a wee bit.
