[2022 Six Nations] France vs England (19/03/22)

I dont think France will win the WC....

A full strength Leinster..sorry Ireland can beat them. As Can NZ, SA.

I mean England nearly beat them in Paris msising a real 12, a genuine tight head lock forward, Youngs at 9, no genuine pacy wingers...etc etc...

They have home advantage which will be huge but I must say I'm not entirely convinced by them either. They kick a huge amount of ball away and they seem heavily reliant on winning turnover penalties to create a platform for their attack. What happens when a referee doesn't reward their jackals/polices them better around the breakdown or they lose the kicking battle?

To me their gameplan is quite rigid and that tends to get picked apart come world cup time.

Still 18 months away. Even though this is a strong French side I won't be crowning them champs yet.

France always has the horses to go deep at the World Cup. They were an elbow to the jaw away from a semi-final last time out and that was a pretty weak side.

Ahhh, I think France are deserved favourites. The only time they ever looked in danger of losing to me is in the minute it took Ireland to wrongly decide to kick points instead of going to the corner.

Does being favourites mean they'll win? No. But to me they're the most talented and focused side out there right now with depth for days. Dupont aside they're 2-3 players deep in every position. It'll take a good team playing well to beat them and that's before home advantage is taken into account.

Congratulations France. Been a long time but it's been coming and pleased to see them get over the line. Arguably the best team in the world at the minute and much deserved. A great day for the sport yesterday with a French Grand Slam and an Italy victory in Cardiff.

I went to bed feeling a bit down after this, but then just started laughing when I remembered Italy beat Wales. Honestly that more than makes up for this pathetic excuse for a performance.

Same here, I went back and watched that Italian try about 5 times, that was The MOMENT of this 6 nations.
Congrats to France well deserved,it's gonna be a Nightmare at work tomorrow since I live in Frogland !!

I really don't think it was. I think you're being dramatic and harsh.

We were not good and there were some very poor individual performances, but overall, I thought we did OK against a much better side. There were more players that stood-up and had decent games than those that didn't turn-up.

I was genuinely worried that we would get a proper spanking and that didn't happen.

I think we all want to see change, but this OTT hysteria doesn't help.

Don't think Eddie will go, but he has to make some concessions, supporters need to get a real insight into his mindset if they're to regain confidence in him. The problem his he can't let on too much ( if he does have some overall masterplan)

This is an interesting comment. I can see what you mean but then fans think they're entitled to everything but they ain't. That, and the fact your average fan, or 99.9% of them, don't know their arse from their elbow.

The insight into his mindset should be the end result.

Fans who are confused by his selections should come away from a game with a clearer understanding of what he was doing and why, but that isn't the case very often.

How often has he actually been vindicated in his picking players out of position or out of form?
