[2021 Six Nations] Wales vs England (27/02/21)

Regardless of whether these penalties are deserved or not, they've made the game pretty ****ing miserable to watch. No rugby has been played.

The referee shouldn't be in the profession if he can't be impartial and react to what's in front of him without taking reputation into it
Totally agree, but human nature to have preconceptions

I'm suggesting he is penalising for stuff that isn't even illegal, he allowed a try after telling Farrell to talk to the players and he has turned a blind eye to Welsh infringements.

Like there, Mako dived for the ball on the floor, completely legal, ref calls it diving off feet, which it wasn't. He gave a penalty for LEGAL play. How can you play the ref when you get penalised even when you aren't doing something wrong?
Welcome to the Scots world

That's the players fault not the ref

How is that not a knock on his hands on the ball on the floor ball moves forward pretty simple

Game has become pretty unwatchable now. Time between whistles is as short as it gets.

Game starts when the referee restarts the play.
Come on, that's a tautology. Of course, he has the authority to do so. That's not the point. The point is whether or not he is using that authority in a) accordance to the rules and b) a fair manner where discretion is permitted.

Teams get together when you tell the captain to have a word. That's the entire bloody point of having a word with your team. I find it unreasonable, borderline ridiculous, from the ref to wait for the captain's to say the last word and then restart without giving them time to spread back to defend. It's basically setting a trap. Sugarcoat it the way you want, that's what it is.
