This is great news. Whatever you think about his ability as a player at the very least most people agree that he drives high standards and has the respect of people he plays with. That and he's our captain I suppose so there is that as well

I disagree - fantastic captain for Wales but don't think his style works for the Lions,

But i've gone into this in the past so ho-hum

I wonder if it will be a good thing for Murray. His form hasn't been great and I'm not saying that's down to the extra pressure of being a captain but I don't think taking it away from him will worsen his form.

The new AWJ has a much improved range of motion at the shoulder. He can offload without even trying now.

My only thing about it is when Sexton and Ryan have been ruled out as concerns despite being fine what does it say to the other Irish players in the squad that AWJ can be parachuted in. I'd be done to pleased about it.

I said I'm not saying it's down to him being captain. I don't know what it is but I'm sure even he would admit he's not playing the best rugby at the minute. Not awful by any means just not at his best.

Conor Murray never captained Garryowen but did captain the Lions. From this we can surmise that captaining Garryowen is more difficult than captaining the Lions. We can further extrapolate from this that Alun Wyn Jones is not good enough to player in Division 1A of the All Ireland League. QED

I do think he could still do a job for the likes of Malone off the bench though.

Ah right I get you. He's always seemed pretty well respected by his peers. I don't know what else you need really. I think a multiple of different characters/personalities can work but each to their own.

Especially when dislocations are likely to recur, especially when not given the full time period for everything to strength back up - I remember reading an interview with Andrew Sheridan where he said his were always popping out after the initial injury because it stretches the...whatever it is that holds your shoulder in place. Ligaments? Tendons? Muscles?

He will definitely be in the test side, so what happens if it goes after 7mins again? We have to have an extra forward on the bench in case?

What Sheridan says rings true my brother-in-law did his in playing Cricket had problems of it popping out for years afterwards and multiple surgeries. I think whatever he had done which meant he missed my wedding has worked though he was almost 30 at the time.

They did. I'm a saddo and have been checking it constantly to see what would happen. They removed him and Tipuric at the same time
