[2020 Six Nations] Ireland vs Wales (08/02/20)

Sexton has been right about most of the things he's complained to Ppite about but he doesn't do it in a way that inspires sympathy at all.
That is the thing about a good captain. You have to keep the relationship good regardless.

On Conway. This type of game is suited to him perfectly. And showing that he is international level. To be fair noone really playing badly

Good game so far. All of our boys are playing quite well. Murray looking better with the go forward. Conway, Stander, JDF and L'amor all looking very good. Henshaw is the standout whenever he gets the ball though.

Of course a fight would be between AWJ and POM haha.

Very positive signs from that half in our overall shape and no one playing poorly with a number of lads proving us fans wrong. Hopefully they can keep it up but I do worry about the missed chances.

With the caveat that Wales tend to be very fit I really like our bench after all the possession we've had. A number of guys who thrive on a looser game.

Deserved half time lead. If it'll he enough I don't know but overall have to be happy with that despite a decent amount of frustrating things.

Can't say I'm happy with Poite but I imagine the Welsh would have a similar set of complaints, he's just that type of ref

Enjoyed first 40,Irish good value for lead.
Bigger looking dangerous when ball in his hands.
Sexton doesn't want to lose the ref RP renowned for falling out with captain's easily.

No issue with the ref disagreeing with whether any given pass is forward or not but if there's any doubt the video ref is there to check and should have been called on there.

You can't give the correct decision if you haven't even had a look. Poor form.

In fairness POM has done a great job at lineout and really frustrated the Welsh.

We are against a gale it seems in 2nd half

Clearly informed to Sexton TMO had checked and not forward for try.

Herring had a good game last week but hasn't been nearly as visible today, would have Kelleher on pretty soon.

That has to be a warning for the Welsh at the very least, killing the ball at a break like that it as cynical as it gets.
