[2020 Autumn Nations Cup] Wales vs England (28/11/20)

Can't help but feel this in England's to lose today. Yes Wales are at home, but with no crowd, no songs, no harassment of the away coach, no Goat, and no Principality Stadium, much of that potency is gone. England are clearly in the ascendancy with consistency in their coach, strength in depth, and coming off the back of some strong performances. Wales on the other hand are way down the world rankings, and not at all in any kind of stride. I'm sure they would love to start their rebuild with a win against us, but wishing it so won't make it so.

Happy enough with EJs selection for today, although would have liked to have seen Marler rolled out for this one. Love that guy. Glad Ford is back at 10, hopefully give us a more attacking mind set, Slade back where he belongs, and a decent pack. Should be a good game.
Agree about Ford at 10, he always seems to be involved in our best attacking moves.

We've looked good as well with the Farrell, Manu, Slade axis as well. I almost prefer that to Ford, Farrell and a 13. Not sure why just fee it's a bit more balanced.

Yep, that works too. I was a little surprised that Eddie didn't go with Lawrence at 12 and Slade 13 last week to try to emulate that formation without Tuilagi, but Eddie seems to be experimenting a lot with the backs at the moment to see who can play where, and why not when the pack is looking set and stable? I wonder if in practice today we'll see Slade at times sliding to fullback, Daly to wing and Joseph shifting to 13. Just because they're wearing those numbers on their backs, doesn't mean they'll play in the same positions all game. Eddie's always preaching adaptability and flexibility and it might create mismatches that open up the defence.

I think today's three quarters looks good but it'll be a waste/travesty if they don't see any attacking ball.

as a slight aside, I'd be interested to hear welsh folk thoughts on whether Botham's ready for this? Seems like a rapid rise given the number of senior games he's had for Cardiff.

He was in defence, don't think so much in attack.
He definitely ran a crash ball a couple of times that looked as if he was playing 12 in attack, it's just that he didn't actually gain any metres doing it. I think he looks very promising in terms of size, pace, boot etc, but I'm not sure he's the kind of crashballer that Manu can be.

I don't get it....they sponsor England?
Surely the "I'll never fly with BA again" mob should've moved on when that happened?
You can't expect the hypersensitive kneejerkers on Twitter to know that or take the time to find out, though.

British Gas do this for the Scotland team, and have never had any problems, predictably.

Wales do love their completely over the top show and dance for their team.

Why are they playing the Welsh national anthem and not the British?
Disgusting

And British Telecom.

I may be relying on you guys more than usual today - Welsh Language commentary isn't likely to be too informative.

No English option on the red button today :(
