[2018 Six Nations] England Squad

On the topic of EJ saying that though, it's pretty crap. To come out straight after and pin the blame on select players when its his selections that have failed the team. It's no secret that our breakdown has been our weakest area this tournament yet at no point did he bring in a 7, or even stop playing a lock at 6 until injury forced it. Turning on his players really isn't the way forward.

Cole, Robshaw, Haskell, Hartley, Brown, Te'o, Wigglesworth all on the cards to go potentially.

JJ on shaky ground.

Correct. EJ selected this squad. He shouldn't then really be castigating certain players

Book stops with EJ 100%, the players graft even if the quality isn't there, he was highly critical of Robshaw at 7 before he took the job calling him "a club player at best" so I find the decision to play him there, especially with a lock at 6 baffling..

Is it a sign he's losing the dressing room?
You don't lose a dressing room with the record he has.

I think he's a ruthless operator and doesn't care for harmony too much.

He had month after month long fight with the JRFU and the Japanese rugby players until he got his way. If it works at the world cup fine, if not obviously he will go. Let's see if the likes of Willis, Armand, Robson and co can now step up.

Heck Ibitoye would be an interesting pick.

Good point, possibly a sign that he never really had it and now they aren't winning it's starting to show him up

I personally think if Manu is 100% fit then Te'o's place in the squad is redundant and regarding JJ, I wouldn't mind seeing Daly given a go there with Nowell coming back in on the wing...

Can't see Robshaw or Brown being dropped by EJ
A) he loves them, They've been ever present in his side's regardless of form
B) they both played pretty well today, all things considered

Agree re Manu over Te'o. Daly to FB though if Watson out long term

So players never to play for England again?

Must mean Simmonds, Armand, LCD, any 7, and anyone who isn't in his core of favourites. As we know, Eddie Jones makes the selections and he knows more than all of us. He has chosen his favourites so it can't possibly be that he has been wrong in his choices the whole time and now it's beginning to show. It must be these other players that are at fault obviously.

Joking aside, he better bloody start choosing players on form from the prem if he's going to make those sort of statements. If he dumps his non-favourites as scapegoats and sticks with the average players then that is **** poor. More to the point, get some actual support coaches in. We at Bath know not having coaches for fundamental parts of the game is NOT good.

George and Sinkler have both had their chances at starting for England now; and Watson's had a start at FB.
We lost those matches.

Pretty sure those three (along with Simmonds, Ford, Joseph and Daly) are the ones he's talking about

Daly? Really?

Edit: Not sure why I only picked out Daly, there's no way Watson, George, Sinckler or probably Ford are being referred to. Maybe Watson's finished as a fullback, maybe George and Sinckler are finishe as starters but they're not totally finished at all.

Why Ford?

AHAHAHAHA

You okay mate? Worried this defeat has sent you over the edge.

Slightly baffled by the calls to drop Haskell forever. I know he isn't the future, and the next RWC should really be the last time he plays for England, but he does seem to play with an energy and aggression that we seem to be missing these days. Ditto Sinkler and LCD.

Care looked good of the bench, but it really must be time to stop considering him as a starter. We really miss Ben Youngs don't we? Still baffled by never trying Robson, Vellacott or Townsend/Maunder (less so by these two due to lack of game time). Also, neither JJ, Te'o or May seem to offer a lot. Infact, May's constant trying to be a 9 or picking and going on his own is starting to annoy me. I swore at him many a time today. Nowell at least has some power, change of direction and waits for forwards to support him on his picks. Oh and offers more in the open too.

Sam Simmonds and the youngsters have been told they are the ones who may not be picked before the world cup.

What a twat.
