[2017 RBS Six Nations] Round 3: Ireland vs France (25/02/2017)

Not sure Trimble is the best guy we can bring off the bench. Either start him or leave him for me, Gilroy would provide a better impact and can cover 15 unlike Trimble.

Would agree. Trimble isn't impact more start or exclude.
On 15 issue I'm sure he see's itbas Zebo Earls Henshaw can cover

France: Spedding; Nakaitaci, Lamerat, Fickou, Huget; Lopez, Serin; Baille, Guirado (c), Slimani, Vahaamahina, Maestri; Le Roux, Gourdon, Picamoles.

Replacements: Tolofua, Antonio, Ben Arous, Devedec, Ollivon, Machenaud, Chavancy, Camara.

~

I don't mean to alarm anyone, but I think France have picked their best team.

It's like you can't rely on them for anything French any more.

Wait until Lopez pulls a hammy after 5 mins, all will be back to normal when they don't have a 10!

Wow on Sexton he's missed as many games as he's played since 2015 and since RWC he's averaged 43 mins per game he's played in. That is worrying.

Worrying in that he won't perform or worrying in that he'll get injured again?

Injury obviously. Have no fear he will be at minimum decent. But it's a big ask for a lad that hasn't completed a game in 18 months or so.

Yeah but whats the alternative? He's as likely to get injured playing Treviso as he is France. They were wrapping him in cotton wool over the Christmas period and he still got injured in training. There's no solution. Throw him in and hope his body takes it.

Seems like fair comment.

He's gonna get targeted but, as you say, he's gotta front up at some point.

My fear isn't for this game but the lads career in general. He can get injured too much. Fully agree it could happen anywhere and not saying he shouldn't be playing just hope he can stay fit.

He's way more likely to be concussed in a test match vs France than a 'training match' vs Treviso. Ask the scots!

No doubt. Maestri will probably go looking for him again this year but i was talking in terms of injury recurrence. This season he's been plagued with lower limb, soft tissue injuries, both hamstrings and his calf. To my knowledge he hasn't had a head issue in over a year.

Looking at the selections I think this will be another low scoring match involving France. Ireland by 6.
