[2017 RBS Six Nations] Round 1: Italy vs. Wales (05/02/2017)

Italy have given away so many penalties, but not a yellow in sight. Really frustrating.

And we're back to **** rugby again after the promising start in the Scotland v Ireland game.

Not 100% clear, but I'd have given it on the balance of probability.

Problem with that is you start giving things based on probability and it will be chaos. I understand what you mean, but you can't give decisions because you think it's lightly.

Also JP really wants to join in. Felt he should dive too.

Wales need to find their ruthless edge now against a tiring and depleted Italian team. Test out some moves, get a bit of confidence.

The Italian kick 'strategy' is utterly baffling. They have no clue what they're trying to accomplish. Wales haven't had to worry about exit strategy all game. Madness.

The 6n needs to seriously consider other options. Italy are crap and after 17 years of drubbings they're not getting any better. Georgia have every right to contend for a spot

Italy started well, but fell off completely. Wales still not playing well though. I completely disagree with the commentators who keep praising them regardless, they still look one dimensional overall and not done anything special. Still they have the win, which I guess is important.

I'm confused by it as well. Too long with one chaser. Italy have looked better in the last few years running a bit more. Can't see any real improvements from O'Shea.

What a flattering scoreline.
Wales were terrible, Italy several steps worse.
Can't see either winning a game in the coming rounds.

Sam Davies has to start for Wales, he created so much for them in a game where they created bugger all else.

Wales still struggling with intensity of the attack and some of the handling was poor but then the conditions may have dictated that. Looks like Wales has more patterns to their play and a bit more confident in the width they are putting on the ball. I wanted to see improvement from November, and although they are far from ***le contenders, they have made some improvements. Sam Davies looked a bit green, but settled into the second half, albeit when the game had broken up a bit.

Job done. Unlucky not to get the BP there at the end. Onwards to England!

Italy on the other hand are very poor. Other than their first try, they didn't ever really look like scoring. I think Ireland will get the BP against them next week with some ease.

Italy were appalling, and Wales will kick themselves for not getting a BP.

LOL - Of course England played a blinder and stormed through yesterday didn't they?

Conditions were difficult but terrible game.

The naturalised Italians seem to care more than the indigenous players. Parisse has been a great player but he's a horrible captain now. Petulant *******.

Davies and Scott Williams >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Biggar and Roberts. Wales still playing flat imo. And flat is the word. There's just a real lack of enthusiasm to their play.

You appear to be forgetting the opposition.
France are going to give Wales a huge test. Italy.......just gave up.

Was thinking about this. Wales are a tricky team to judge in this sense. Sometimes the manage to drag oponents into their tempo and that, though boring, can produce results.
Other than Italy i wouldn't write off anyone at this point. Maybe France.

Well there's only one side that's looked like winning the competition so far and that's Scotland.

...we're through the looking glass here people
