[2016 Rugby Championship] South Africa v New Zealand (08/10/2016)

haha, same thing in the united states... i know some people have started to use the term partner to mean long time boyfriend or girlfriend, similar to gays in the United States before they were allowed to be married

yep in argentina we are familliar to the USA English and it sounded to me as you say, in fact when i try it`s imposible for me to catch up for instance the ABs press conference. i do a bit better with S.A english, Oz its terrible too! irish is a different language!! ;)

and how do you now that the gay marriage is legal call the wifo? husbanda? in argentina gay marriage is legal to but they still call each other partner (pareja)

question:
i read several times people talking about aaron smith partner.
why is it? it´s that aaron is gay? is she his wife, girl friend? in spanish if you call it partner means the person is gay.
Not exactly. The correct translation would be "pareja" which is gender neutral, as is "partner".

All Blacks team named,
Talking points:
Todd to start!
ALB AGAIN!
Naholo back!
Kaino back, two loosies on the bench suggests hes not 100%
Moala gets 23

apparently if one of the halfbacks gets injured before the game McKenzie will come into the side as cover, he has been playing as the opposition 9 in training this week.

All Blacks team to play South Africa at Kings Park, Durban, on Sunday:
15. Ben Smith
14. Israel Dagg
13. Anton Lienert-Brown
12. Ryan Crotty
11. Waisake Naholo
10. Beauden Barrett
9. TJ Perenara
8. Kieran Read (c)
7. Matt Todd
6. Jerome Kaino
5. Sam Whitelock
4. Brodie Retallick
3. Owen Franks
2. Dane Coles
1. Joe Moody

Reserves:
16. Codie Taylor
17. Wyatt Crockett
18. Charlie Faumuina
19. Liam Squire
20. Ardie Savea
21. Tawera Kerr-Barlow
22. Lima Sopoaga
23. George Moala

Strong side,
I do think naholo works better at 11 though. The coaches seem happy to move him from 14 to 11 before moving other players but to me he always looks more comfortable on the right. I would think a guy who normally plays fullback like Dagg would be more comfortable shifting sides.
Strange to see Tuipulotu drop out after such a strong game last weekend. The way he was stopping guys on the gain line looked ideal for a springboks test.
Good to see Moala back, I think these are the three midfielders who can take this team forward.
The non-selection of Fekitoa for the 2nd test in a row suggests he is finally on the outer. I've discussed him a number of times. basically he is defending well but you can clearly see that the All Blacks attack is breaking down whenever he is involved with the ball. He's not making decisions based on whats in front of him.

Is this Charlie Faumuina's last test? I tend to think it probably is... Given hes off to France I think it would be silly to select him for the EoY tour.
He will be missed, hes basically shared that tighthead role with Franks for 4 years now? Offered really good impact off the bench and at 29 hes kinda just entering his prime as a prop.

25 mins till coverage starts up....................................................................................

Do I go to bed...

Replay on at 9:30................... With the coverage starting right this second. I'm out. NIGHT.

I can't tell if this will be close or a NZ blowout. If the Boks give NZ the same amount of possession and territory as they gave to Australia last time out then this could be unpleasant. The Boks reverting to territorial should mean that they've less chance of being hammered, but probably means they have less chance of scoring tries (and therefore ultimately less chance of challenging for the victory). Strong NZ lineup, so I pick them by 15.

Shocking decision. I wonder if South Africa would have been awarded such a "try".

shouldn't have been a try and south africa just committed two professional fouls within five meters and walk away with all 15 men

i think garces just doesn't like making decisions

Massive problems with this ref right from the knock-on call in the early minutes. Definitely not up to the task.

I'd agree that TJP's effort didn't look like a try and I've not really heard of the "what does it look like in real time" rule before, but it wasn't just Garces, it was his TMO and assistant who were all agreeing on it. Surprised they never looked at Naholo's effort rather than just saying knock-on. In fairness to Garces there have been a few horrible try line decisions to make.

ALB absolutely standout in the first half; a frightening player for his age. He looks a great physical specimen, intelligent and able to make the right choice under pressure. AB have left lots off points behind, general poor execution, missing a 4 on 2, and missing five straightforward points in kicks. Factor in the wind being behind them in the second half and I think they should be able to pull away.
