Last year Racing had him on the bench during the 6N, they've actually been pretty good at not flogging him really.

Last year he wasn't out for large chunk of season. And wasn't leaving. ROG said he'd be a big boost against Clermont. And they're going much more competitive this year. They want value on their â'¬750k per year.

That worries me a lot. RWC without sexton is worrying. The French will be out to get him today.

I'm surprised that Henshaw is starting again today.
I thought he was really poor vs Italy - would've thought they'd give Madigan (or whoever else is in the Ireland squad that can play 12) a shot there. Unless they think Madigan is too slight to go up against a midfield containing Bastareaud?

I think he made the 2nd most tackles and the most metres last week. No way was he getting dropped. Madigan isn't really good enough at 12 for this level either I'd say. It should also be taken into account that last week was Henshaw's second ever time at 12. He's got the attacking talent he just needs to be given the chance to use it.

Have to say Henshaw probably did everything asked by Schmidt. It was a structured gameplan so was never going to be much chances.

RTE's promo:

Using a Russian composer's work rather than a French one's.

I wouldn't judge him on one game. He is an excellent athlete but also a good footballer who is a little raw but has no shortage of skills.

Could be the tightest match of the three and am seriously looking for the French to surprise but expecting an Irish win.................by either 5 or 25!!

To be fair though. I understand where Olyy coming from. We have a 13 playing at 12. And a 15 playing 13

Oh good Lord Hooky, the foreigners taking our jobs speech is the biggest load of ****e he's come out with. The provinces are allowed one project player each and it takes three years for that player to not be a project player. That's hardly going to stop any young players.

How come the poll for this and England games close tomorrow morning?

He wasn't poor against Italy though. Made 2 handling errors but carried well and was solid in defence. Payne played 13 in super rugby and was supposed to be good there. I think the partnership needs a little time to gel. Sexton coming back might be good for them too.

The main problem last week was the gameplan. It was low risk therefore the backs had little chance to shine. If they play a quicker game like I think they will today, we might see more of the backs.

No never said either was poor. They did all basics right. Also I agree gameplan was a factor but don't think Sexton being back will mean a massive change. Just that there'll probably be more tempo. Payne may be a good 13 but since he's played there for Ulster or Ireland I've seen nothing to see that he's an international 13.

When you see Schmidt's record laid out like that it's just incredible.

You'd be deafened I you stood between Zebo and O'Mahony for the anthems

Be interesting to see which Kockott turns up this week...............hope it is the one of last season and the one before!!!

26 to 4 in favor of Ireland... France has to overcome the rugbyforum severe predictions!
