Hmmm difficult one to call. Pape wasn't looking at Heaslip as he entered the maul, but he did lead with his knee. Commentator for the BBC is making a bit of a meal of it. Penalty and yellow is fair enough. Imagine that did hurt but Heaslip had no idea whether or not that was accidental haha.
I find it pretty embarassing that he's so enraged about the sanction for Papes knee being only yellow when a year ago he defended Cian Healys stamp on Cole saying,'what can you expect if you're on the wrong side'
Phillip Matthews. Flies under the radar but he's as biased and one-eyed as they get. Rarely sees/is sure a penalty is one after Ireland concede yet is adamant ref is 100% spot on when theyre awarded one.
It would be very French for France to come back and to win this game . However, Ireland seem very much in control with their accuracy letting them down.
We are so lucky with bad French passes. They could have put us away last year if it wasn't for a bad pass. They messed up a try scoring opportunity in the first half of this game, and just then they messed up another opportunity with a bad pass. We are incredibly lucky against them. Also our back play is amateur.
His is one of the most one sided useless analysts that has the temerity to appear on tv................in any case, a slowmo replay always makes things look worse...he led with his knee but one usually does when you are running.
For me this match has shown yet again why the French think they do not get a fair crack of the whip in European matches from the refs but there we are Barnes is supposed to be in the top four or five so maybe we just do not know anything!!!
I have no problem with that yellow but there have been many instances of players in the mauls being yanked by the throat in this game so why this one chosen?
