[2015 Six Nations] Ireland vs England (Round 3)

Statistically speaking Ireland had the best scrum and lineout last 6N, our lineout over the last year has had a completion rate of well into the 90's and our maul has taken teams apart. We lose a tiny bit with no Heaslip but in PO'C, Toner and PO'M we have some of the best lineout forwards around and Easterby has created a lineout with some some very sharp and smart movement. I can't remember the last time we lost a lineout battle.

Our line out against the French wasn't the best in fairness...

I actually think our scrum is a lot more powerful with Attwood in there. I agree that Lawes/Launch are probably better all round players but Attwood in there seems to give us go forward in the maul/scrum that just wasn't there with the other two. If I was Lancaster I would go with Launch/Attwood as starting pairing if everyones fit. Lawes could be a great bench option with his workrate and big hits for late on

Going into the AB game, England had statistically the best lineout in the world. Recently that has dipped a bit with the loss of our usual jumping options but certainly isn't a weakness, it's a large part of the reason why Hartley is still picked.

Really can't call this, all I can say is England have looked more capable of scoring tries than the Irish so far.

Cracking match. Went forward in my TARDIS to watch it. (Btw that stands for The Atmosphere Round Dublin Is ****e
***SPOILER ALERT***
England 17-17 Ireland

IRL:penTry 12, Pen Sexton 16, 43,79,80
ENG: Try Joseph 19,23,61 Con Ford 23
England definitely were the better team, playing with only 14 men after Dylan Hartley shoved his bare ass in Craig Jouberts face and shat on him after a decision giving POC a flukey penalty try in the 3rd min. Rob Kearney proved to be a key player in the penalty try at the start, screwing over the whole English defence while Stuart Lancaster kept a straight face for the cameras while actually cried for his mummy, and Joe Schmidt weed himself in excitement. Then some **** happened, Jack Nowell proved to be easier to catch than Ebola in Sierra Leone, but not quite as good as Jonny May at being hated by English rugby supporters everywhere. Man of the match was Dylan Hartley cuz it was hilarious. Oh and he got a 9 month ban. :/ worth it 10/10 would watch again

That's lovely, they also changed the scoring for the game? 1 try =5, con = 2 (7), 3 pens = 9. 9+7=16. 4/10, improvement in maths needed.

This thread should be locked. Its gone as stale as my Barnet is fresh

Well thank god you're here to aid in the discussion then, eh?

Anyway, what do people think of the two benches tomorrow? I can't see there being too much in it after an hour so how they impact the game will be key. From our perspective having Reddan back is very good, while Healy, Cronin and Henderson is a nice amount of oomph to be able to bring on. I don't think either 36 or Felix Jones will have that much of an impact coming on - conservative choices in that respect.

I'd say the benches are fairly even.
Our front row subs could add some real carrying/ruck impact, though both the lineout and scrum will take a hit.
Cipriani is Cipriani, has the potential to come on and turn the game on it's head.

I'm far far happier to see Felix Jones on the Irish bench, than Luke Fitzgerald.

I think the English pack is going to be too strong for us tomorrow. Hope I'm wrong.

I'd be of the opinion that if Ireland score more points than England they'll win... Wharra loada nothing!
