So, given he's a bit topical at the min, big ol' roundy Goode as an option at 10 for the 6N. Y/N? :p

I... would actually be alright with it. Not ahead of Ford, but wouldn't mind him as a back-up.

ha! i nearly posted this yesterday, andy Goode to kick the winning goal in the WC semi final in a top 10 sizes too small and become a legend

I've been saying for ages that Goode is still the real deal - he just looks hilarious.

Looking at our props, if you can start with Corbs and Wilson, then have Marler and Cole coming on, you are doing pretty damn well. I wanted to know people's back row combination v Wales ? When we got battered 30-3 we had 3 blindsides playing, this year we had Morgan and we won. I would love to see us play 6.Robshaw 7.Kvesic 8.Morgan or 6.Launchbury 7.Robshaw 8.Morgan

Launchbury won't be playing anywhere so I would want:-

Corbs Hartley Cole
Attwood Lawes
Haskell Robshaw Morgan

Can't escape the feeling we need another monstrous ball carrier. In that pack the only one I see is Morgan.

Is the Bury man out ? If so
Corbisiero Webber Wilson
Attwood Lawes
Robshaw Morgan Kvesic/Ewers

I agree it isn't a pack that will batter it's way through the opposition. It is however one that will defend well, secure good ball and win turnovers.

Edit: Yes JL is out of the 6N

Corbs Webber Wilson
Attwood Lawes
Robshaw Morgan Kvesic
With Cole, Hartley, Marler, Kruis Vunipola coming off the bench

Batter the Welshes in the Scrum :)

I am gonna put the cat amongst the pigeons now and say i'd quite like to see:

01: Corbs
02: Youngs
03: Cole
04: Lawes
05: Attwood
06: Vunipola
07: Wood
08: Morgan
09: Care
10: Ford
11: May
12: Burrell
13: Tuilagi
14: Roko
15: Nowell

Power!

Love this team !!! Except Wood .... Maybe we can slide Steffon in there ?

(from the int'ls I've seen in white) I think the best third row England could try out is: 6.Billy Vunipola 7.Robshaw 8.Ben Morgan.

Ah, screw it. Put Devoto at 10, Barritt at 12, Tuilagi at 11 and Banahan at 14 - that's real power!

why on earth would you do that?

The thing with Wood is when he is good, he is really good. He has been utter rubbish for England lately but on Saturday against Leicester and in particular against Salvi who is a fantastic Fetcher he stood up and was magnificent and i just sat there thinking "i wonder if?".

All this talk about people winning turnovers etc.... you don't need to if you smash the breakdown so hard you come out the other side, and this kind of annoys me about England right now, they just set and let the oppo have the ball, no one comes right through (or seldom do they) the breakdown and kick the bejeesus out of the opposition 9. You do that and the oppo start committing more to the ruck, that suddenly stops their midfield/13 channel game suddenly it's trench warfare with a bit of backs play in it - and THAT is the the best way to beat New Zealand.

You watch SA and it's just hit everything in front of you hard, how many times did we see Bakkies and Matfield just hitting a lost ruck and still destroying it.

In short i think Englands pack is just, well too passive, and trying to play the wrong kind of continuity game.

I actually wouldn't be too upset with that, as long as they are allowed to play their natural game and forgoe the "everyones a fetcher" mantra.
