[2015 RWC] Warm Up Match: France vs England (22/08/2015)

Ok so I watched this late so haven't been on cod I didn't want to hear anything I hadn't already seen but this is my 2ps worth . Breakdown was poor poor poor (requires 3 poors as it was that ****) the scrum really wasn't helped by the worst pitch I've seen since murrayfield had worms . Nowell, Brown, JJ, Cipriani all plusses . Line out was dyer George will be 1st choice if it carries on .

The only team that will be hugely worried by today's game will be Ireland

And on a last note whoever said forwards win games and backs decide how much nearly had to eat their words badly !

Just for Olyy Cipriani was outstanding !

Hah Hah thats the second time you've made me laugh tonight.
Tigs, I hear you about Waller, I read an article on him a few days ago and he is shaping up but will it be in time for Lancaster to sway his thinking.
Heywood I'm not familiar with... but I'll take your word for it.

Farrell at 12????
What in the blue blazes have you been smoking son?

Waller for me is a future England loose head he hasn't been involved in the set up long enough for this World Cup.

Heywood is a genuine talent and I'm jealous of saints there.

Him, George and LCD will be our hooking choices coming into the next World Cup if they carry on progressing.

On the issue of 6, we need someone who can:
a) Shore up the lineout
b) Make plenty of tackles
c) Be a strong carrier
d) Be decent over the ball
Anyone got any ideas who fills this criteria (hint, he's young, and is currently doing pre-season with Sarries after being cut from the squad without being given a chance in a warm up).

no need to go to Sarries, Tom Woods already in the squad.

I'm being genuine, as well.
While there are younger players with (potentially) a higher ceiling than Maggie, he's so experienced you could drop him into the starting XV vs Ireland and he'd perform.
Kind of like Easter - the elder statesman.

Why go to Woods when we have Easter.
I would genuinely consider putting him and one of Binny/Benny in the same backrow vs Uruguay, just to see what happens.

I say we start Easter, Lund, Simon Shaw and Jason Leonard against Ireland.
Lund is 5 years younger than Easter, who has a very real chance of the making the squad.
Why is that so bizarre? Especially considering the season he's had?

Agree olyy about trust with cips. Why does Lancaster pick him at all when he clearly doesn't trust him.

It because every season you seem to have a raging hard on for a Sale flanker:
2012/13: Braid
2013/14: Seymour
2014/15: Lund

I could prob go longer but it genuinely seems like a fetish of yours.

Easter at 6?

Yep. Or Bunny @ 6.

What the worse that could happen.

You guys cannot be serious about Easter?
Really?
Come on??
He's a flat track bully who looks good at the Stoop agin club teams but at the top level he's a yard short of pace and he will get eaten alive by the frenetic speed rugby is packed at these days.
I mean I'm having to point the finger at Jerome Kaino for starting to slow down and bringing in Victor Vito for the 'rush' of enthusiasm and physicality he brings to the mix.
Easter?
An honest servant but really a journeyman at the very top level, a retrograde step in the extreme that I can only think of as folly that has been kicked up as a backlash to tonights performance.

today?

You're not a flat track bully if you can look good playing for Quins...
Looked good tonight in a dominated pack too.

Braid is a Kiwi and capped All Black.... I mean he's ****ing good, but I've never said he should play for England.
Maybe you're confusing me with Nick who said he should have gotten more caps for the All Blacks, if not for McCaw owning the 7 shirt?

It's been Seymour for several years, and since Lund moved back, I've added him (and he's overtaken Seymour).

I can put my hand on my heart and truely say they deserve(d) to be in the England squad.
No one raises an eyebrow when everyone's crying about Kvesic, but Seymour played to a higher standard, for far longer, without getting a sniff.
Lund is the exact type of flanker that England want/need, has experience and form, but isn't within a sniff of a chance of even being considered to be selected.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They weren't dominated in the last ten when the French altered their team and took their foot off the gas...

Wasn't on about braid for England but braid in general.

It does seem like every season you designate a sale flanker to be your new centrefold
