[2014 Mid-Year Tests] Springboks vs. World XV

I wish Goosen and Lambie weren't made of glass, both can show such class.
SA seriously need another tighthead, really needed before 2015. Oosthuizen isn't the answer, and the coaching staff need to accept this.
Didn't really think Victor was that good. Two penalties again, very little ground ball in hand, tackling stats not spectacular. Come Etzebeth and du Toit's return to fitness, I could see that pairing being devastating.

Nyakane has been called up to join the squad. Maybe it'll help on the tighthead side.

Flip has been granted special leave for the week as his brother is getting married. So it looks like BakTor will be the lock pair this coming week...

Well, I don't think Nyakane is really test material either, but it indicates they are looking around. Will they call anybody up for Flip's absence? Lewies has been involved so it might make sense. Last thing they want is one of them to pull a muscle in the captains run and be left with Alberts covering second row.

The World XV was almost like a 'barbarians for forwards'. It's not often you look at the Boks and think they look small compared to the opposition.

Are any of the SA guys worried about the scrum before next week? It definitely didn't perform, and as it's something Wales pride themselves upon, could it have been a red herring of sorts?

I'm not worried. It all depends on the ref, as Nick Mallett said after the game he thought Clancy made a lot of 50/50 calls at scrum time and usually gave the penalty against the Boks.

With that said, Our scrum will improve the more we play, so it's not an area of concern for me...

I am a bit worried, Jake White played the top Sharks players to a standstill - props, Willem Alberts and Frans Steyn showing it.
The scrum should hold their own, but nothing more, substitutions to come on earlier in the second half
