[2014 Mid-Year Tests] Springboks vs. World XV

Naas never tackled... ^_^

that was kind of the joke.... i'd love to see him get flattened by Kaino or someone.

I remember reading about the World XV vs NZ in the 90's when he played alongside Jerry Guscott, and Guscott said he (botha) didn't make a tackle the whole test series.

could kick a ball though, eh?

Normally I would assume this was a parody account but here i'm but not sure at all.

World XV: 15 James O'Connor, 14 Drew Mitchell, 13 Rene Ranger, 12 Wynand Olivier, 11 Hosea Gear, 10 Matt Giteau, 9 Rory Kockott, 8 Roger Wilson, 7 Steffon Armitage, 6 Mamuka Gorgodze, 5 Alistair Hargreaves, 4 Juandré Kruger, 3 Carl Hayman, 2 Craig Burden, 1 Sona Taumalolo.

Replacements: 16 Andrew Hore, 17 Schalk Ferreira, 18 Pat Cilliers, 19 Joe Tekori, 20 Alexandre Lapandry, 21 Jimmy Cowan, 22 François Trinh-Duc, 23 Benson Stanley.

Solid 23. Trinh-Duc on the bench again, I mean seriously, Giteau isn't even a real 10...I'm sure he'll do a great job though, what a player.
A pretty good World XV, given every Tier 1 nation is on tour at the same time.

Nothing to worry about for our backs. the ball won't go past 12. It's Meisiekind who cannot pass and plays for L'Oreal...

And if Giteau skips Olivier its Ranger who tends to go it himself and looks for the offload. JPP despite not in top form should be up to it defensively; we must just watch those offloads. That Giteau is a sneaky one though- their danger man; SA can handle big baller runners coming at us but those sneaky ones... hopefully Le Roux can make something of those Giteau chip kicks or we could be in trouble.

Why oh Why is HM still the coach...
I don't like the team but I still have faith HM can deliver the goods. I just want to see him focus more on the WC, but his style is to focus on fostering a winning culture and always playing the best side. If it works we will all praise him for a genius, and if it fails we will condemn him, that's how saffer fans are :p.

Also if not HM then who? It's not like another South African coach stands out, and we'd never hire a Kiwi (pity imo).

Cornal Hendricks? WTF?? Damian de Allende!!!

De allende is part of the injured legions.

Because the bye of Super Rugby, I'm not aware of injuries to all players. Glad to know it's not a technical decision, Damian has done well this year.

He has certainly been one of if not The form SA back and HM acknowledged as much. He got injured in the last game against the Sharks sadly.

Yeah, I know. I have him in my Fantasy Super Rugby team and he made few points in the last game because he left the field before finished the game. But I didn't know how big was the injury.

Besides I'd rather he play inside or outside as A) wing is generally a position in which we can put in a quality player to satisfy political quotas and B ) He has way too varied a skill set to play wing.
Luckily he's still young, and should have ample opportunity to prove himself.

I've calmed down a little bit about the side tomorrow, in the end I have to admit I'm no professional rugby coach and I do think HM is a clever guy with a plan in mind. I just hope he isn't letting the fear of losing adjudicate his selections. For now in HM we trust and go bokke <s>tomorrow</s> today!

Who's televising this match? Not on Fox or Setanta...
