[2014 Mid-Year Tests] France

general sucking up skills are handy esp. at FFR it will get you the job but also keep you in it

send in your CV in Google French

you're in with more than a chance to be shortlisted because there's not going to be many candidates next year, in fact this will be the position in French rugby with the biggest shortage of all

the top coaches will stay with their club

First and foremost buy a suit and then go and live in Paris and make lots of rugby buddies that done you are nearly there.......... Dont worry about rugby knowledge PSA got the job and knows Jack Sh**

absolutely PSA got the job while he was going nowhere with Toulon, FFR threw him a life line, Boudjellal was not just keeping the boat afloat as President but it is said also picking the team...

a BS in Media communications is an absolute Must - especially the BS

I'll seriously consider applying so thanks for the advice, all. I have a BAS degree and I'm sure I can scratch out the 'A'. As a South african speking broken English I am sure anything i say will sound just right and we are generally good at shifting blame.

I can just see myself in the role now already. I'll probably cap a lot SA players.. hope you won't mind.

Not at all. Bienvenue. Its a job from Hell if you like coaching & rugby, however, if you're into politics arse-licking & media BS your success is guaranteed. FFR don't do sacking so your job will be safe in these uncertain economic times, however in keeping with tradition public (as in media) hanging & backstabbing can never be ruled out.

We have picked a few players from your country already to ease you into the job, but please bring more. The way things are going domestically, the home-grown players couldn't be arsed and, not surprisingly, tend to focus on their club career. You will understand when you arrive here.

yeah, can we poach Habana ?? I want the Habana guy. On our wing. He's played, like, 200 minutes this year. That's well over enough legally....no ???

I can't get Habana but will bring some angry boere with me with French-enough sounding names and with a passion to beat (physically if not on the scoreboard) Aus, NZ and particularly the English. They might get on too well with the Irish though.

The French rugby politics can't be worse than an average day in SA so I don't think that'll be a problem.

well Habana is already here so to speak..your Boers have French names. Le Roux De Villiers Basson Du Plessis etc

the public won't know the difference. its the Huguenot blood

talking about blood...the angrier the better

PS the superficial nature of your friendship with the irish is quite welcome

Talking baout Huguenot blood...

15 December 1790 Law: A French law stating that: "A person born in a foreign country descending IN ANY DEGREE from a French man or woman expatriated because of religious beliefs" may become a French citizen after establishing a domicile in France and swearing a civil oath..

"A person born in a foreign country descending IN ANY DEGREE from a French man or woman expatriated because of religious beliefs"; that's just about every single Afrikaner and certainly every Boer and I know I can prove French ancestry even though my surname is Dutch.

Anyone know if this law is still in effect? I might just try my hand and push hard to become the national coach.

hahaha...where did you get this out from, some Orangina label ?

As for your plan up there, sounds good ! Make sure they're especially lucid of history with the English, get em extra starving for match day :p
Our guys nowadays seemed to have lost their hunger and rivalry with the old enemy...I'm sure the Boers wouldn't make that same mistake ;)

out off question does anyone know when Sofiane Guitoune is back ? and also what happend to Camille Lopez

What is that? Are you refering to Orania? That is just some irrelevant little farm no-one cares about.

As for my knowledge of similarly irrelevant French laws.. lets say every white South African has considered his options of getting out of the coutry. I have a very long list of options with the most left field and involved ranging from the invasion of uninhabited islands to the raising up out of the sea through building upon (and I shall call my island Great Cthullu) of undersea plateau's.

when he got injured they said 6 months. So probably in another 2 months I guess...Lopez got a bad injury at the start of the season. Can't remember where. Been out a long, long time and he ain't ready to come back...probably back by next season.

stormer: I'd recommend you wouldn't try France, we've got our own issues at the moment !!! :p Go to, like, Canada if you can. Peaceful, fair, good life...

Both seriouly injured this season but with USAP going down Lopez has signed for Clermont and Guitoune for Bordeaux Begles, et voila!!!!!

this team will implode physically in OZ

players like Mas Domingo Maestri are shot

Michalak has started only 3 games with Toulon - he showed a clear lack of pace in his last game agst SF, he is well past test rugby

Ouedraogo Dusautoir are just back from long injuries, not fit either

2 outhalves over 30...ah well just as well we have the Top 14 playoffs barrage final & H Cup final

Hey Big E, how do you think you will be the starting lineup of Les Bleus in June?

agreed FrenchFan on your points, esp. Michalak being past test rugby (but he could actually still surprise us all !). Agreed about Ouedra and Dusau as well...plenty of other very good options there available....all in all, this selection is just gradually starting to smell like crap the more I look at it...CONRAD: read past posts on this very thread for your answer.

they're cannon fodder to the International test schedule

they're going out there to fulfill some innane agreement btw 2 federations

scrap these down under tours
