[2014 Mid-Year Test] U.S.A. vs. Scotland 07/06/14

I'm in H-town visiting family/friends and have bought 9 tix for us to all cheer for the Eagles! At least by half time it should have cooled down enough here to keep both squads from wilting, but during the first half it'll still be pretty hot.

I'm not surprised that Samu Manoa isn't playing -- he must be exhausted after Northampton's runs in the Amlin Cup and the Aviva; I can't help but feel some disappointment, though. On the flip side, I'm a little surprised to see Chris Wyles starting since he must also be exhausted from Saracens' runs in the Heineken and Aviva. He did come off the bench in the Aviva final last weekend (56th minute, I believe), but he still put in plenty of minutes with OT... but in the end I think the Eagles need his boot too much to rest him.

Win or lose, I'll hope the Eagles play well and use the game as a springboard building toward the World Cup. GO EAGLES!

im sure Wyles has recovered and is super pumped for this game but i actually dont know what will happen i have a weird feeling that were going to get a shock from the us

yeah i had a bit off mind damage during that post as i said i think thats fair enough i think the u.s will give us a run for our money i think

EDIT: i would say thats fair enough i think the u.s will give us a run for our money i think

I like the Scottish backline with Laidlaw, Hogg, Maitland, Lamont and Visser. It's an interesting backline, they can breakdown any defense, the problem is the bench. You don't have top class replacements, if any of them were injured, their backline lose too much power.

well to be honest rugby is slowly dying in scotland but glasgow going into the final i hope will motivate us. and i think so not 100% sure

Christ, you're a wee ball of positivity aren't you!
To say that rugby is dying in Scotland is completely wrong. Attendances for Scotland games remain very strong, attendances for Glasgow games are up about 30%. Edinburgh are struggling but I've talked before how I see their issues. Scottish rugby have a new deal with BT which has wiped out their debt. We have a top class coach in charge of the national team.
Admittedly we've struggled in the professional era with only two professinal teams at this present time, though there is talk about a third being introduced. And as for the players, I really do see some genuine Scottish taltent there in the dotted around the UK and France.

I agree with you in terms of the bench for this game though on another day there are now more options in the backline. Seymour, Pyrgos, Scott, Dunbar, Bennett, Horne, Heathcote being the first names that would come to mind. I personally would have Seymour in my Scotland team ahead of Visser of late, but that's a debate for another day.

suppose its growing back but i was dying in scotland like a couple off weeks ago when we needed to get players from other players from abroad. but now i think it will come back

My net is a disgrace I can't stream this right now? Is score just 7-0 Scotty?

yellow card for Olive Kilifi keeps collapseing the scrum too many times

penalty try for scotland, the usa are having real problems in the scrums needs to fix it fast, its going to cost them

Wow, hopefully our tight five are up for the challnge next week, seems the American scrum is being manhandled.
