[2014 Mid-Year Test] Argentina vs Ireland (2nd Test)

How the **** does Heaslip get himself stripped.

Undoubtedly, these 2 test matches are positive for Argentina despite the result. Many new kids are playing against experience players as POC, Rory Best, Rob Kearney, Sexton...

well this one ain't over yet, but indeed, one of the rare bright spots in these Summer tests. Very happy to see them play with such courage and quality, beautiful to watch.

Hey, you guys want Saint-André ?

Of all players Sexton down. That fella needs a summer of just rest with no injuries hope it not serious

Happy to see Tuculet playing well. Was a big fan when he was at ours, was disappointed when he moved on but it made sense as we couldn't get him that much game time with the wingers/fullbacks we had at the time.

That was a pretty meh game to watch for anyone not rooting for Rhys Ruddock.

Agreed but he has to play regularly. He can be a serious contender to Sexton but not if it's warming a bench for Jimmy G

He's played a lot this year, but the problem is that O'Connor hasn't given either of the two guys a proper run (like 5 games on the trot.) Madigan has the much higher ceiling, so I'd go with him, but I wouldn't be surprised/adverse to seeing him in the centres more next year.

So Ireland "win their first test series in Argentina", although that's not what that was, but they were obviously disappointing overall. For a European champ, no 50 blowout against a bunch of South American nobodies + a couple of good names. And on the other hand, Agretnia (or Argentina, whichever looks cooler) have shown class, defiance and tremendous heart. On defense, in the rucks, in the scrum where they were highly deficient and sheer quality on attack si ("on a taxi" ?). Big big A+ to Aryentinius, very surprised, and pleasantly so, personally. In those two testicle serial, or test series both times they've shown lots of intent keeping the ball in hand, stepping, crossing, beating defend dirts. Lovely running game. I literally would exchange some of our better players for that coach, and throw Saint-André into the pits of...uhmm...Ukraine.

Yeah he's superb and the frequency with which he can get stuff out with especially compared to someone like the Demented Mole is fantastic.

I think thats a little unfair on the Mole!

Now, if you compared the two of them to the "quality" of the big paid journos in the print press... the disparity is embarrassing.

Played a lot but his best was late in season at 12. And in all big games he knew he wasn't 1st choice. Not saying it's his fault but he needs to be backed and stuck with. I'd compare it in a way to Keatley this season. Takes over from ROG. Was average until January. Despite calls to replace him with JJ Penney stuck with him and it paid dividends. Leinster must do it too.

He was 10 for the Northampton games. Not saying that I'd have picked Gopperth by any means, but we might as well get it right.
