by the way wales are playing comparing to scotland, scotland had improved alot since that hammering against the springboks in the summer tour. they are much stronger in defence aswell in attack, I knew Russell at 10 will be vital and turn's out to be a very good choice and is definitely our future 10. Wales hasn't really impressed me to be honest, yes they played harder teams then what we've haved, but to only narrowly beat fiji, still failed to beat the wallabies and lost to new zealand at the end i dont see wales going far in the tournament thought that will easily change before the six nations.

I have a feeling we can also shock the french depending on what squad they play on the day, a squad similar to last year six nations will be good for us, but the team has changed alot since then so it doesn't look too good for us, unfortunately for me i dont see scotland beating ireland or england even though it might be close against the english. but we are heading in the right direction and will have a good shot in the six nations and the world cup.

Scotland may be improving, but bar Wales' very poor performance against Fiji (not our strongest team out, to note) we have still played at a level above Scotland and i don't see how you can really argue against that, a loss is a loss yes, but Scotland would not have been able to withstand SA for 79 minutes, Australia for close to as many and NZ for 69... I admire your optimism, but as i said in the other thread Scotland would have to play very well and Wales to play worse than we have in a long time for Scotland to win it. I think you're underestimating Wales significantly based on the Fiji game and Scotland's decent defensive performance against a second string All Blacks side.

Wales have improved in many ways since the 6N, but still can't beat the best. Not quite. But we can and will challenge Ireland and England far better than this year, that i am certain of. I hope Scotland can do the same, but i don't see you having more of a chance against us than either Ireland or England. Just don't see it at all.

Edit - Something i'm excited to see develop is Scotland's back line, the back three particularly look lethal. Hogg seems to have hit some great form again. Was worried that he may fade following the lions, but he hasn't and that's important for Scottish rugby.

na but on a serious note, a new zealand 2nd team with the likes of Richie McCaw, Dan Carter, Ben Smith and Malakai Fekitoa ?, i've never underestimate wales nor did i say we are definitely going to beat wales next year, the only thing i said that we have a chance to make an upset, like how wales could have make a huge upset against New Zealand last Saturday. i would actually want to see scotland face the springboks again the only reason why we got hammered by the springboks in the summers is because we were only allowed to select players from 2 teams,

EDIT: and not just that we had a serious injury list then, there was no Matt Scott, Alex Dunbar, Ryan Wilson, Tim Visser and we had to play a number 8 who only played 2 games for Glasgow which were all replacements. and we also have Tyrone Holmes who doesn't usually get called up for Glasgow

looking good for the 6 nations, if we keep playing this brand of rugby and be clinical, we will have a good six nations and have a good chance of winning in paris on the opening game

Your using wales continuous loses against sanzar teams to try an prove a point that Scotland can't beat Wales? I don't understand the logic behind this

Well if you read my post again, you'll see that the point i am making is that many people are now ranking Wales so lowly based on results and not performance. Whilst i'd agree that winning is the most important part of international rugby (obviously), i find it naive to rank teams solely based on it. My point was that although Scotland have had a better Autumn series in terms of results against much lower ranked teams (including Argentina), when you put their performances into perspective, Wales have still been a class above generally in all but the Fiji game (which we won incidentally). I think the logic is obviously why I think Wales are a better side than Scotland. E.g based on any performances since 2007 (the last time Scotland beat us), regardless of our record against the SH teams, Wales will be huge favorites come the 6N.

Oh and your argument that i am using Wales' losses against Sanzar teams to prove a point, is narrow minded at best. I think it's far more illogical to assume that because Scotland beat won a couple of matches they were expected to (I expected it against Argentina too) that they are now better than Wales. Just doesn't work like that. Perspective.
