In this case it's backed up on distant memories going back 10 years ago. Not very reliable.
Top 16 of Nick Mallet is now called Top 14. The rules have changed as well, so have the refs. It definitely reads too much like a caricature 10 years later.
Also, we have foreign refs reffing some games in our league. So couldn't be biased.
Top 14 players and crowds are fully aware and up to speed with SH style of reffing. And on that basis, we don't think SH refs are better, different yes, but not better.
