[2014 EOYT] Italy vs Argentina

i dont see why argentina would take us lightly they lost to us before that game i think scotland actually step up in that game

I hope I didn't sound disrespectful to Scotland, I didn't mean to - they were fantastic, and I'm not saying Argentina at their best would necessarily have won, just that having played like they did in the RC they might (wrongly) have assumed Scotland would be relatively easy - a mistake they won't be making again, and nor will other teams.

@Big Ewis, cheers, I'm lucky enough to be unemployed at the moment so have time to watch all the rugby I can lay my hands on!

Real shame about the weather in northern Italy, I hope there are no consequences more serious than a cancelled rugby match. Isn't Genoa close to Bologna, where the earthquake was a couple of years ago? That would be really awful

Not really near. I agree with you, hope we won't have major consequences. The problem is that more or less one month ago the same thing happened in Genoa: huge storm, flood and mud everywhere. Some people died, as yesterday in north west.
Two or three years ago Cinque Terre, which are near to Genoa, were almost destroyed by something similar. It's a very problematic area, due to the fact that there are steep mountains very close to the sea.
Forecasts are not nice, let's cross fingers.

P.s. sorry for this OT, I hope we could talk only about rugby in the very next future

Interesting team. Imhoff out doesn't surprise me in the least, but that's a strange looking back line in general. Did Bosch pick up an injury? Because he did look extraordinarily bad at the weekend, and it seems unlikely that he would have been dropped to be replaced by a winger even on the back of a poor performance. Has Agulla played 13 for Argentina before? He hasn't for Bath as far as I'm aware, and certainly not this season. Also what happened to Sanchez? I rate him, and thought although not the best game he showed a few sparks of invention which was otherwise lacking. He didn't really get the backline moving, but I thought that was because the two centres were mediocre. With Cubelli-Hernandez instead of Landajo-Sanchez it looks like they want to slow the game down, doesn't it? I don't see the logic with that, Italy are far better equipped to deal with that than the expansive stuff we saw in the Championship. I disagree with making such wholesale changes, I think the correct response to one poor performance from a good team is to say to the same players "Get out there and damn well play better; otherwise you're dropped"

With so many leaders and key players out, and with that selection I'm actually starting to be tempted to predict an Italy win ...

Yes sir, in Italy will be broadcasted by DMAX. If you're interested there'll be a live streaming of the match on their website www.dmax.it. Don't know if you'll be able to play it connecting from US, anyway there's always foxyproxy or stuff like that :)

Check the time, It'll be 17.15 GMT+1.

Multo bene!

For those of us in Britain, I believe it's being shown on the red button on Sky Sports 1...a nice interlude between knocking off early from work on a Friday afternoon and getting to the pub for Friday evening...

I don't have sky sports. Is the DMAX link available to the UK ?

You lucky English :D
I won't see the game live, my boss (girlfriend) has the urgency to take ourselves in a kitchens show room.

Hope you all enjoy the game, I'll probably see it recorded this evening!

I'm a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE Willy wancah too these days, so don't worry. Wankah solidarity. I was just impressed by the casualness you displayed there. Powerful inertia, man. I dig your style..
