[2014 EOYT] Italy vs Argentina

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh! Thanks Orquera

:bananasperm::bananasperm::bananasperm:

Holly cr*p, that was the worst international match I have ever seen.
If Italy wasn't like this, we would have deserve defeat.

In the other side, the replacement of our replacement had an injury, and Juan Martín Hernánde proved why he's the most talented player on this squad.

I rather have Leguizamón, who has worst hands than Parisse than Sergio. Legui gives us many things.

Those who know about the subject: is this enough to overtake Japan in the rankings, even if we lose to France?

HAHAHAAAAAA!!!! YES in your face italians, or from wherever you're. PUMAS 20 - MERCENARIES 18.

wow if italy couldn't even beat a poorly formed Argentina side then they do have problems i thought they had found they're form but i seem to be wrong unlucky italy.

BTW, how many italians have Italy? I'm asking for real.

I've heard they have a new talent on sight: his name is Richie and has this magic trick he can take the ball out of your hands and pull it off his own ears. Could bring his friend Danny if they promess him a couple of Armani suits.

Juan Martín Hernánde proved why he's the most talented player on this squad.

I respectfully disagree. One nice pass made the try that turned the game, fair enough, but you have to credit the line from De la Fuente and blame the massive hole in Italy's defense as much as the pass. Top class fly halves give several passes that good per game, and Hernandez did nothing else noticeably good all day apart from a risky offload in his own 22 which came off, and made several mistakes, especially with the boot, and ran the game badly. He improved to mediocre in the second half, but Sanchez looked by far the better fly-half when he came on, because he is.

Yeah, but Sánchez only has one movement -his sidestep-, worst hands than Hernández and worst field kick.

That also depends on the definition of talent: to me, is the espontaneous genius that can change a game. I also saw the kiks that weren't out when he had to kick penalties, the lateral running... and then he won the match.

I think he's the most talented argentinian player of last decade, even if I have to admit that Felipe Contepomi had a better, much better carrer and for a longer time.

Sorry Horacio but Hernandez is far from his best level of play, just the tactical kicking is intact.

Two class kicks into space behind Italy by Sanchez Vs none by Hernandez tell a different story about kicking today. You can talk about his pass as a game winning moment, and it was, but the pass itself wasn't THAT special, and Hernandez's poor kicking and game management was a large part of why Argentina got themselves into such a poor position in the first place. A couple of kicks like those in the first half would have had Argentina playing in the right areas of the field and not giving away 5 lockable penalties in 40 minutes. And I disagree that Sanchez is one-dimensional in attack, he's got a great step, offloads well, little chips into space, a good all round passing game.

I'm starting to feel we generally disagree about half-backs...!

ahhh, welcome back !

By the way, is it me or Montero improved massively on defense?

I haven't seen this full match, but it seems like it. His enormous tackle alone made the Pumas' first try on the counter in Murrayfield last week. He seems to have been confronted about that very seriously by the coach.

Well done Argentina. 2014 has seen the Pumas' best performance in the Rugby Championship yet, plus an away win (or two if they can upset France next week) in the end of year tests.

For Italy, this is 10 losses in the last 11 games. I don't see them beating South Africa next week, so not a good year for Italy at all.

Yeah, in fact, after the first south africa game, Hourcade was questioned about that aspect of Montero's game, and he said Manuel himself was ashamed of that, and that he wanted to be better, as good as he could get, and was already working on it... well, it seems he was saying the truth. Nice to see it a year before world cup.

Every Time Ref: yeah, but this is one match, what about last week against Scotland? I agree Sánchez is our best option right now, but he's not more talented than Hernández.

I think the greatest of mistakes from Hourcade was not to bring Fernández as a replacement for Sánchez.

hey !!! That's OUR tag !!!

Hi Big E!! Please mercy with us next saturday, Allez les Blues!!

as you know, it's always 50/50 with France. A match they should win for sure, they can lose. And a match they should probably lose, they can win. So it's always about 50/50. Actually, wait, with the French it's more like 70/70...yeh, that's it.

Always the same dear, old, Italy. No killer istinct at all, you could not afford to sit down and watch even if you've gained a points gap like that, especially when you're against fighters as argentinians. We'll never improve like that.

@Conrad Smith and any other rude Argentinians!

1st of all. apart from Haimona and Geldenhuys! they are all Italian! Italian law is clear! "Jus sanguinis" And BTW most of the 6N teams user qualified players which I am against anyhow.!
2. You cant hide the fact that there is a war in Argentina anyhow about whether you are "Spanish or Italian"... And those that keep strong links to Italy.
3 Argentina's and Uruguay's cuisine IS ALL ITALIAN. Spain Raped Argentina ITALY MADE ARGENTINA!
4 Oh yes you'll happily take the "European" "Italian" passport to travel freely, and make you feel superior to all the other South American countries, Because you are SOOOOO "European", but then you all of sudden forget it! I have plenty of South American family so I know all about it!
5 Italy Argentina should be a "healthy" brotherly Latin derby... But you make it "TOXIC"

You are an affront to the values of rugby!

And the really sad thing is that a lot of Italians will support Argentina vs other teams... and you just managed to p*ss them all off!
