[2014 EOYT] France vs Australia

We all have to admit, it's high time Australia lost their top 5 ranking. This has been a #6-7 team for years now.

Hey Conrad, where are you getting the live streaming if I can ask?

Wow! That France 11 is phenomenal! There is no way he should have scored there....

Great try from nothing!
Helped out by some crossing, but mad skillzz nontheless

The new jersey gives superpowers to French players?

If France had a decent scrum they could be a good rugby side...... :p

France made two tries but only winning by 1 point. Discouraging for any team

Discipline is as much of a part of the sport as attack and defence.
France started with a bang, but Aus managing to hang in and weather the storm, taking points on offer. Much more clever from the Aussies, remember them trying to go for the lineouts last year and chase the game with the big score rather than going for posts; can be costly. Foley showing good nerve, been pleased with him this year, certainly developing nicely.

Disparity in coaching quality evident here. One quick look at their rucks, one look at our rucks, seeing their contesting on defense on the ground and ours - and one understands where these two sides stand. Huget and Thomas letting their individual brilliance make the threat but there have been pretty good attacking movements also - Lopez making a number of wrong decisions, some he'd never make once in a Clermont jersey, he needs more time in Bleu. France hungry and generous, so that much is appreciated, but they need to find a way to be more accurate with their efforts somehow, from themselves, since it won't come from their coaching staff.
Teddy Thomas with his 4th int'l try in 2 caps, pure brilliance on the try but he almost gives away the Aussie try on his own. Very unfortunate.
Aussies looked febrile and even panicked in a few stretches but much better in the last 10min of that first half.

France dominant in the game but giving away stupid penalties in isolated moments, very unfortunate.
Scrum was even worse last summer down under with Thomas Domingo, Nicolas Mas is burnt, no doubt. Enter Slimani soon as our by default starter and Atonio we'll see in the second half here.

I haven't seen enough Huget to have a decent opinion: is he as brilliant as he seems to be?

The new Kiwi seems to have shored up the French scrum a bit. Be interesting to see how it goes on the Wobblies put in though.
They could put Basta there, he looks fatter than ever, easily bigger than any of the front rowers on the pitch.
