2014 Canadian Rugby Championship and General Canadian Rugby Chat.

Edinburgh 'A' beat Ontario Blues 41-15 according to twitter. Alistair Clark, Lucas Rumball and Paul Ciulini got the tries for Ontario. I'm disappointed the best team in Canada didn't put up more of a fight but it's helpful to show how far Canada still has to go. Hopefully some of the guys impressed Edinburgh enough to warrant some interest.

nothing to be ashamed off, edinburgh has alot of good young players and this performance shows they're impact hopefully we can see more of that in the future, edinburgh's future look bright

I was hoping for a closer result but the Blues were missing some players and I wonder if they had enough time to settle in Scotland with not much time between travel and game time. More importantly none of the Blues players in the NSMT tour got injured so they should be ready to go for the RFU Championship game on Sunday.

You idiots have no idea what is going on hahha.. you might as well be throwing **** at the wall and seeing what sticks.... haha morons

My my my, aren't you a pleasant individual.

What's wrong with speculation and opinions, is that not what forums are for? Discussing stuff with fellow fans. If you don't like the discussion and don't want to contribute in a "positive" manner you're welcome to not partake in this thread.

Well I call a spade a spade. Whats your expertise? Are you a disgruntle player who just didn't get picked??

...now arriving out of left field....

Seriously, where did that come from?

This guy dropped by last November with a handful of posts, it was kind of odd he was kind of referring to us as a little bit negative essentially, but he wasn't rude or over the top or anything. I didn't think he really "got" what the forum was but it didn't bother me as he wasn't abusive, did add a small amount of actual posting and left quickly, I expected him not to return and especially not like this.

Drunk post? I hope so because that was barely literate. Odd to call others morons and not even attempt a modicum of posting quality yourself.

Is this Dan Pletch's account?

I posted that in the EOYT thread but that thread seems somewhat reduntant and I should have done it here as well, and I really like Buydens being picked as captain.

Looks like Ardron is going to miss at least a couple of games than.

I'm guessing our lineup for Sunday's game will be announced tomorrow, I really have no idea who's available except that the Aviva guys and Cudmore will likely be unavailable.

Maybe a side like.....

1. Buydens (captain)
2. Barkwill(or Carpenter)
3. Marshall
4. Buekeboom
5. Hotson
6. Dala
7. Moonlight
8. Pearson(or Carpenter)
9. McRorie
10. Parfrey(or possibly Braid)
11. Wilson-Ross(depends on Paris availability)
12. Hearn
13. Trainor(possibly Blevins, maybe even Braid)
14. Duke(depends if Hassler is available)
15. Pritchard

16. Tieddemann
17. Barkwill/Hamilton
18. Ilnicki/Wooldridge
19. Phelan
20. Gilmour
21. White/Mackenzie
22. Blevins
23. Whatever leftover back there is e.g. Wilson-Ross, Braid, whoever didn't make the cut.

Looks like Sean Duke and Jason Marshall have been called into the Baa Baas side, awesome news for them. Duke's always been a solid servant who hasn't quite got the limelight of our other backs so this is a fantastic notch in his belt. For Marshall this helps cap a bit of a comeback year for him after the let down 2013 was.

I learned some frustrating news at my teams AGM last night. We have a very good youth program, one of the biggest in the province, that we're very proud of and have some good upcoming talent. We have something like 205 kids(boys and girls) in our system from U7s(tag rugby) all the way up to U19s. Anyways, apparently going forward it will cost parents something like $2500 per child(it already cost like $1500) to participate in rep rugby. How can the provincial unions and Rugby Canada justify that and where is the money going because no one at our club knows. Can we really afford to be pricing out families like this? Soon it will be not who deserves to go but who can afford to go and that will hurt the unions and Canada as a whole.

I thought it has always been "who can afford to go" instead of "who should go."
