2014 6 Nations: Scotland vs France (Round 4)

Thanks I'm feeling in a good mood today ;) what do you think about it then ?

Another person I can't get my head around why he isn't in the squad is paillague everytime I've seen him which isn't lots and lots but he seems fast alert and very dangerous . I rate him higher than macheneud

I see.
Well Paillaugue still makes mistakes and his game isn't as well rounded as the other main SH on his very team, Jonathan Pélissié. But he's yet another guy to keep in mind for the future, but seeing how the national team plays atm it just doesn't matter who fills the spots......
Machenaud has actually played quite well so far this year as opposed to 2013.

And for the record: Doussain isn't nearly as bad as we've seen him in the Wales game. That performance was a shocker, really dunno wtf. But just for fairness, he's actually a good SH, not nearly representative that game in Cardiff.

Yeh to be fair I've seen doussain have some cracking games for Toulouse I think the whole team didn't play great that day so hardly a good platform to go off ! If England chucked out everyone who played in our "that day in Cardiff" most the team would be gone lol the only Frenchmen that left with their heads held high were dulin and huget

forget France playing like shhit, I mean Doussain specifically had a shocker individually, independently from the way his team played. He's a good scrumhalf and definitely deserves to play at test match level. He had a very good game in test 3 in NZ for e.g. and he was just dropped in there with almost no int'l experience.

And btw, I'm glad you got that blowjob today. A lot easier to communicate intelligently with you when you're in a good mood.

Haha thanks ! I still think France will beat Ireland in Paris so it looks to me like it will be between France and the winners of Wales/England

Szar unsure to play against Scotland atm. He left the field during the Racing game earlier tonight....we could be without our two hookers
Maybe a chance to try out the young Toulousain Christopher Tolofua.

But the injuries are getting closer and closer to an absolute disaster situation...our guys play way too much. Thank God this FFR-LNR agreement came about, we'll see what it really changes next season.

Same as England mate . At the other end of the scale welsh and Irish players rarely play that's why they beat us ;) that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it

English players don't play 40 games a year. The RFU protects the players, at least a bit; enough...England's got a fine system...
The money in the Top 14 has completely fked everything up, and it's up to how well we can limit the damage at this point until, maybe, the point where it implodes and we can get back to something somewhat normal again.

It's so bad, the foreigners we have and all that, that I'm almost (*almost*) ready to accept an event like Rory Kockott (the Castres Saffa scrumhalf) wearing the Bleus jersey. In theory it's ridiculous, he had a pro career before Castres, France, and he'd be our starting SH. But at least we'd reap the benefits a little bit of having so many fkn aliens in our system eating up all the spots, and if we won't develop our guys enough, then I want reparation. Let's consciously steal quality guys from other countries.
Where the fkkkkkk are our tightheads, the notorious French scrum that's meant the cold sweat of generation upon generation of opposing front rows ? They're all Pac Islanders or Georgians in the Top 14, it's become a caricature.

England aren't nearly at that point quite yet.

Yeh I get what you mean . Dan Cole has played 17 games this season well probably a few more now I think someone said a few weeks back so some get over played but we don't have as many games as you in our domestic season and don't tend to do as well in the HC

The on going problem of country against club, which one day will be resolved but not in the next 100years no doubt, there are arguments for a TOP 12 but ask the 2 clubs that go down, their sponsors and partners what they think, if the new H Cup getsoff the ground then there will be fewer matches as there are only 20 teams but that is not going to make a massive difference, and of course the old addage keeps coming up Money, Money, Money. That will not be resolved for ages so we have to stick with what we have unless the FFR start paying the clubs properly, with the same wages that they play their players when they play for their clubs, so if you talking around average 25/40,000€ per month give or take a few €'s 30 players on a 2 week training camp would cost the FFR between 375,000/600,000€ in wages alone, which is not going to happen + of course the expenses of everything else that goes with a training camp. Dreamland!!!!!!!!!! So where do we go bigger squads which means more money but less player time if a convention is signed by all parties.I myself am a clubman so i understand the owners problems but this will create lots of ink but rare resolutions

Top 12 would be alright, but it's just down to protecting the players, like the English do for instance. EVERY SINGLE one of our 30 selected players but 6 played last weekend, and lots of them 65min or even a whole match. Only 6 guys were left to rest.
None of the England players (but Mako Vunipola apparently) played this weekend.

How the fk can we afford to play our guys when we obviously still don't have the chemistry we need as a group, and they actually return to their respective clubs' atmosphere and game plan and teammates and coach, and then even risk getting injured some more - this weekend's victim: our other hooker, Szar.

A country like England obviously still prioritizes national duty well over the clubs' season: players are protected, don't play during the off weekend, and help themselves as best they can mount a real team with a real sense of priority, cohesion and a club atmosphere. They're focused and grow together while being physically fresh(er).

Our guys (24 out of the 30) this week will return from jacuzzi to cold-water pool yet again, will have to settle, rework their way into the feel for the Blue jersey, the stakes, readapt to the coach, "game plan" (if any)...etc...while grooming their last 50min/80min encounter.

It is, excuse my french: FUKKING BOOLLSHHIT.

there is no argument as such. Only a piece of paper, yes lots of "ink", thats all. This agreement was dead in the water before it was even signed. Clubs like Toulouse did NOT follow the convention (aka agreement) before the Welsh game. This so called convention has created more problems. Bouscatel who was full time member of the league has resigned. So there is no agreement in actual practice. The top clubs are wiping their arse with the convention.

I agree with club presidents like Bouscatel and Boudjellal. Players are employed by the clubs. There is no "priority" to be given to the National side. Int players are released if their contract says to.

and I hope we move to a Top12 soon, the current recession will dictate a smaller elite simply because many clubs will struggle financially to stay in Top14.

whether we look at it as "priority" or another term isn't important. The Six Nations have always been there and will be there for a healthy foreseeable future yet. Either we play it, or we don't. There's no such thing as a job half-done. It's either done, or it isn't. You're either ready, or you're not. Make up your mind, France, because right now we're not.

Sort it out Top 14 and FFR, I don't give a fk, not my job. My job as a fan is to sit my ass on my computer seat or TV couch - watch, analyze, and then talk.

ah you are doing a grand job of talking the game, don't worry about that :))))
well nobodies say the 6N is on its way out. I love the competition. But it cannot take priority over clubs here. And for sheer entertainment value Top 14 and HCup are just as good. I have seen some absolute humdingers in Top 14 last season and this seaon is no different. This is why 99.99% of posters on this forum are not credible when they berate the Top 14 : they dont even WATCH it !
PSA has been hiding behind a facile excuse with the foreigners playing here. He is running out of excuses. I agree, play or shut up. The only good job is in handling the media, he is a great talker.

You're stuck on your "nobody watches the Top 14 on this forum" quip. You need to adapt to the realities in front of you. "Not watching the Top 14 and passing judgment on French Rugby" doesn't concern me. I do watch the Top 14, and maintain everything I've said so far about the French problem on this forum.

But anyways you're right, let's stick to Scotland France:
Szar has a sprained ankle, let's see if he can play next week or who PSA will call up in his stead.

Giraud, Tolefua, Geli,Ivaldi, Biachin, just a few but then there's no depth in France so they keep telling us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Orioli...Guirrado...hooker position's fine in France, nobody's questioning that. But Szar brings more than just hooking and throwing lineouts in the 2 jersey. And Kayser was well established at this point for us...
Haven't had anyone with the aura of William "the log" Servat since his departure, no doubt.
Hopefully they pick Tolofua. What a physical specimen for a hooker. He's been picked before, and despite the criticism he gets for his lineout throws he's one big, big asset ball in hand.

I saw nothing in the Scotland Italy game that made me think they will beat France.

I couldn't agree more..

France already ruined its six nations and honestly Scotland's scrum was really far from impressing against Italy.

I think the flower of Scotland already bloomed this year.

France already ruined its six nations

nope. We can still win this. "Ruined" is much too strong a term. And Italy are hardly a walk in the park in the scrum, are they ? But if France can't exploit the scrum advantage in Murrayfield, that just adds to the French Rugby "paradox": potential we're either using very badly with little continuity, or not at all.

This Tolofua sounds a bit like Tom Youngs . Trouble is if you can't get front foot ball at the line out sometimes it can be difficult to get going
