2014 6 Nations: Scotland vs France (Round 4)

Is nyanga injured ? I thought he had been really good so far ! Probably Frances best player IMO !

I think if I was Scottish I'd be fairly confident of causing an upset . France rarely play well away for home and Scotland high on confidence after winning last week and scoring 2 beautiful tries

Yes Nyanga is injured or he would have been included, beware of the injured beast, France have absolutely nothing to loose and with loads of players getting their chance with only one game left there could be some real surprises, the pack is big and strong and if they gain momentum they will move forwards, dominate pack normally produces good ball and the French backs can be really dangerous if they have the right head on, but that we will be seen on Sat. Still fancy France pulling this one off not by much winners in the end, but it will be close.!!!!!!!!!!!

well he's a porn actor on the side, so maybe he's gone and done that...not sure. Doesn't exactly help with the clichés...He may be injured too, it's just too personal to ask him.

And about the upset from Scotland, we'll see, we'll see :D
And two really nice tries in deed, and again, what a drop !
I know it's a cliche but if France turn up they will win easily . If they don't get out the blocks and Scotland get a grip on the first 20-30 mins it could be a tight one

I definitely think bringing new players in will give France a new lease of life . They have an opportunity now and they need to take it .

Personally, I think France by 10. But we'll see of course.

why aren't Galan & Tolofua in the squad? 2 hugely powerful youngsters that fit in right with PSA's definition of the power players he says he wants. Galan has impressed everyone this season & is only just about kept on the bench by Picamoles. yes another product of the Toulouse academy. AH yes we lack strength in positions like No8 ah ah ah
Tolofua is only 21 and would overturn a dumptruck with just a nudge. Pure destruction. They're both fit at the moment (Tolofua came on agst Perpignan last we) and regular starters.
as the saying goes if they're good enough for Toulouse, they're probably TOO GOOD for the national side...

PSA prefers to pick a B side..I can just hear the excuses already if they don't win..

FrenchFan: yes that game was absolutely awesome. I liked the Saracens in there too, I remember Farrell had a fantastic performance, and it was my first time seeing Galan first hand like that, hadn't noticed him all that much before.

Yes as you're implying, modern test level Rugby needs power, pure bulk. The "MAAASS" thing, yep...Tolofua might incorporate the XV de France soon enough, I'm guessing post-2015 RWC when Szar withers away gradually we get Tolofua to back up Kayser, and then eventually he starts for us possibly.

About the no.8 position: yes, we've got too many foreigners at that position in France unfortunately, that's just a fact. We've got Picamoles and a fantastic Galan in the making, but then Chouly barely holds his own at int'l level - in fact we'll get to see him some more on Saturday there...
Who do we have as specialist no. 8's past those two guys atm ?? Antonie Claassen ? He's not even a specialist 8 and he's fukking South African.

It really is all about bulk atm and it will only get worse overtime, and we just don't have that many huge guys in France in the third row. Burban fits that mold at flanker, but then even Bernard Le Roux we had to go and poach !...

Anyways PR actually picked Scotland:

well why not ?, scotland has a huge chance to actually win, BUT! there are still dangerous players still on the pitch for france eg. Dunin, Huget etc. so theres a chance in an upset at murrayfield but being absolutely honest its not a guaranteed win but a huge chance and i hope scotland takes it.

Probably their best chance in years of causing this upset. Half of France being in the bodyshop, morale high after the Italy game and all. Still, in the past France have performed like a dog's dinner against everyone and then bimbled in and thoroughly rogered the Scots (last year a case in point). I think that possibly they view Scotland as an easy victory and that actually helps them focus and produce a half-decent performance. While naturally the Scots industriously set about burning down their own house then acting mystified when they get mullered having performed like a pub team after a good lock-in.

It will be interesting to see what, if any impact Euan God-Botherer Murray will have. He's not the beast he once was, and more importantly I doubt the scrum will produce much of anything for either side with the state of the pitch in Murrayfield. The steroid-munching-turbo-grass-weevils have reduced the turf to the point where the forwards are going to have to be offered a ladder after every scrum to climb out of the hole they've just dug.
Basically, if Scotland come flying out the gate and actually string a few passes together, knock the daft penalties on the head and shoot Johnson if he thinks of making criminally stupid substitutions they could do it.
From a spectator point of view I'd like to see Medard and Huget produce some of the magic they used to at Toulouse. Maybe against Ireland though.....

Medard hasn't produced any magic and he shouldn't even be in the squad. Bonneval is a far better player going forward. wrong selection
Vahaamina is an out-and-out lock, not a backrow player. one out of position
Guirado should not even be in the french team. He has never cut it. Not an intl player. Tolofua is a far better player. another wrong selection
Picamoles should be in the squad. I dont care he is a shoe in. if not, then Galan should be in as well. Thats 3 toulousains who walk into any side vs 3 plain wrong selections.

when PSA picked his team he was in a pub right in the middle of a good lock in. This is a France B side with too many that shouldn't be there and some out of positions.

yes we do have the players at No8. Picamoles Galan Chouly Claassen, Leroux is a 7. I've just made the case for Galan who is an oustanding prospect. The right players are not being picked, that doesnt mean they are not there! You are reading too much foreign drudge about our league. I don't read your PR ****e, its written by hack who have never played the game and dont watch the Top14. You should come home and enjoy the best league in Europe instead of reading all that ****e.

Bloody glad Picamoles isn't playing! As for the coaches, just wait. Johnson will probably help you out with his flawless substitution strategy. Ross Ford, line out, couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat? Bring him on!! Max Evans, about as creative as a moth faced with a light bulb and weighs about as much as a bag of sugar? Get in there!!! Denton, the only bloke on the team actually playing some rugby? To the bench with you!!! Onwards, lads! To vict....oh....

I'm going to pretend like what you're saying is true. Then, innocently, I'll ask you the following question:
where are our no.8's and our tightheads ? And please don't name any of Picamoles, Galan, Chouly, Mas or Slimani.

And wth Scotsmanslanj, a Scottish Toulouse fan ?!...why ?....how ??

Ha! Lived in France for a while and that's where I got into rugby. Once I moved back I took one look at the Magners League, laughed, looked at the Premiership, yawned and went straight back to watching Le Rouge et Noir. Bloody grim last couple of years though....

well im scottish and support Sale Sharks when Chris Cusiter Move :D

mediocre and totally lackluster and then brilliant all of a sudden...in the image of France as a whole...

Jim Telfer apparently had this to say about this coming match: "To be honest, I don't see how France can win this. Of course they can surprise us but our players are used to playing them. If Scotland can't beat France, that will mean we're really bad".

Man, fk you Telfer ! What an assshole !! :p
