2014 6 Nations: France vs Ireland (Round 5)

Those last phases of play demonstrate to me what separates teams like South Africa and New Zealand from the rest of the world, they would of clinically put that game away. France will be killing themselves they didn't win that.

What a poor comment ! in the final of the last RWC, NZ has never put the game away, they have been Lucky Joubert hadn't the balls to whistle the so numerous fouls the ABs did...

The superiority of the ABs is more in the franchise system which advantage the national side, give lots of time to prepare and the fact their players did twice less match than any NH players.

Hilarious. So you don't think rugby tackling someone in normal life are any type of clearout wouldn't see you getting charged.

That path of argument in regards rugby no matter who uses it are which incident you use it. If I tried to use it for 2005 I'd be stupid.

Intent does factor into criminal law you know... the intent in a rugby tackle isn't actually to hurt someone, but Healey's attack was something clearly done maliciously and with intent to hurt. And he's got a pretty bad track record when it comes to malicious play.

Will hold my hands up and say I questioned Schmidt but wow he masterminded it and tactics were superb. Trimble I thought played his best game ever in green. Pack were absolutely excellent

Stupid comment, the fouls is or not, if it is whatever the guy takes the ball or not is irrelevant...

Yes it is... If that scrum kept driving rather than the no.8 picking up then the Irish would have been pinged for bringing the scrum down or any number of scrum related penalties.

At least I am happy, because Ireland is a deserved winner and for once, Les Bleus haven't been ridiculous as everyone was predicting.

Congratulations Ireland !

And I am happy, the roastbeefs won't be able to say Frenchmen have let the Irish win without fighting.

Gongrats Ireland. I didn't really mind who won this, as I'm quite fond of the current England team. For the first time this tournament France turned-up, so it's sort of fitting that Ireland had to overcome that to take the championship.

Kinda lucky in the end, as I'm unsure how France lost that. Missing a sitter of a penalty, followed by a forward pass, and probably unlucky to turn over the ball in the final scrum instead of earning a penalty which surely would have followed had the ball stayed in.

Irish forwards were down, the scrum had already collapsed : penalty should have been whistled, whatever the french did.

Ireland undeserving winners, ref did a great job (for them). Hope Healey gets a very long ban.

Away and dry your eyes - you are just a sore loser. Right team won the championship and dream send off for one of the greatest in BOD!

I would give up on this one like I have......sometimes you know you are right but other people cannot accept it!!

You have a point there imo. Ref certainly could have played advantage, as I thought the French had already done enough to earn a penalty in that scrum.

Don't get butthurt by the truth, NZ IS MORE CLINICAL, you named a few facts of why this is so but it's still the truth. SA and NZ winning records speak for themselves.

Congrats Ireland, well done.

I started a bet at work, a nice group of 17 people. I'm happy Ireland althou I took Wales as a winner.

I don't quite understand how Wood is saying that Szarzewski's try wasn't one... the ball never loses contact with his fingers.
