[2013 TRC] Argentina vs. South Africa in Mendoza (24/08/2013)

This is as strange a Bok performance as it was for the Argentine side last week.
Bad handling, poor play by Ruan Pienaar especially
Just strange..

A total change in attitudes. The Boks were up for it last week while Argentina were resigned to losing. Now the Pumas are all fire and brimstone (and getting the rub of it a bit) and we are just not up for a game today it seems. Just waiting. No taking the game to the opposition and Argentian are beating us off on the ground.

right.
And Argentina has shown that aggressiveness on attack that we saw all tournament long last year. Plus the scrum looks good this match...

Is it really South Africa performing badly or could we give Argentina some credit as well?

so are we already done with straight scrum feeds or didn't walsh get the memo?

Wrong call by Walsh there. That is a deliberate knock forward followed by offside when the South African player picked the ball up!

definitely Argentina, but the Boks aren't all there in the confidence dept., that's for sure.

Argentina needs to win this somehow. They've lost miserably in Jo-burg, and might lose this at home. Last year, the Boks never made it to 30 at home, and drew in Argentina; so this year would be a worse result...they MUST WIN THIS, VAAAAMOS !!

I've seen a lot of bad calls. He's awful at officiating the scrums.

South Africa are very, very lucky to get out of this with a win. Argentina were clearly the better team for virtually the whole match, outscoring the Boks 2 tries to 1.

Steve Walsh has a lot to answer for. That was undoubtedly his worst performance for a long, long time!

Odd indeed. I suppose the rationale is to keep the ball and let the clock tick.

So the Boks took it but did not deserve it.
Ugly game with some serious allegations of faul play as well, unfounded or not
Thought the Arg. no 7 had a very good game and won the battle for the loose ball
Welsh was at his "best" again

Both sides will struggle against NZ based on today's performance.

After the game last week it feels strange to be disappointed by a 5 point loss!

I almost feel embarrased that we won; like the kid with the rich dad who gets to be head boy despite the hard work and dedication of the other kid. That said, I'll take it but hard fought and redemption for Argentina.
