[2013 EOYT] France

They could start by playing people in their own positions lol

eh, that's been taken care of a while ago, it's those other problems...but they've been addressed, in part. More time together to train as a team and not just fkn Top 14 mercenaries, A TEAM. So when we've got those heated situations in the opposite 22, our guys know what to do with the ball. Guitoune, Fickou, Fof, Fritz, Huget, Dulin...gah, a shame we can't finish.
See you in Paris, poms, and we'll see what France will conjure this time......

Do you want Ashton ? I'm happy to swap him for a packet of salted peanuts tbh

I'm not giving you a whole bag of salted peanuts though, we'll have to seriously talk this over some time !

No but to be srs, if I were to pick an English player who would complement the France team best....I'd piiiiiiick.....Robshaw, or Brown.

Interesting that tickets for all France games on sale local Geant Supermarket this week!!

Half a bag of salted peanuts ? You can have the first half too .

Experience..............

boy, talk about brief. Are all those dots because this forum doesn't allow a one-word-post ?? :D
And I don't know if that's even a factor now...Talès is fairly old himself flirting with 30 atm, and if he doesn't have as many caps, TD hasn't played for France in a while and Talès might actually be more hot and comfortable and confident in a Bleus shirt right now.

:D aaaaaah come on, poor Chris !!!....

..........DEAL !

Parra out for 10 to 12 weeks with his knee problem.................

what, there's an update ??...didn't see anything..poor Clermont, totally shytty news there.
I'll repeat this may be a blessing in disguise, and I really hope to see Doussain get some good minutes in the 6N. The boy deserves some freakin playing time, and he's totally got the level.

But I'm sure PSA will go Machenaud (starting) and Doussain (bench)...seeing the sort of Rugby Racing Metro are producing now, it's hard to estimate Machenaud's true individual form...but he's worked out alright before in a Bleus shirt (2012 EOYT) and PSA never gives up on his choices it seems...

I say Doussain at 9, 60min per game. See how that works out for a bit.
Then again we start the tournament against England in a must-win situation to hit it off with a strong start..and does Doussain have the experience ? Nope....Machenaud does.

yeh that article is from November 25th...I've commented on that higher on this very page that same day.
But yes, no news on Parra then...the status at the time was he'd miss at least the first few weeks of the 6N.

Tony (or anyone else), are you more happy or bummed by this news for the XV de France ?
Good opportunity to get the others out and test them once and for all or just Parra is our best 9 and it's a bummer.

Update for the upcoming England match:
selection to be announced on Monday (tomorrow).

Here's what's at discussion:
FH
with Camille Lopez out indefinitely, who to cover as our backup 10 ? Nobody wants Michalak, and he hasn't played at all since the Nov. tests for Toulon. Everybody's still mentioning Francois Trinh-Duc of course, but the newest tendency is a big appreciation for young Stade Français talent Jules Plisson. I personally would like to see what he can do in a Bleus jersey, but maybe the return of TD could be a nice touch to this year's 6N

Center:
Fritz is out because (of a fukking motorcycle accident) so Basta and Fickou to play bigger roles, and they're both very good. I'm glad we have them. Some people still mention David Marty for his aggressive uncompromising style, and I'd like to personally add Toulouse's Yann David would look really nice on that squad. At 185cm 105kg, he'd add some good power to the midfield and he's had some quality play lately.

Third row:
Fee-fi-fo-fum Picamoles finally returns, and hopefully ogrish as ever. Lauret is still in the mentions, while Ouedraogo still is out injured. Dusautoir, Nyanga and Damien Chouly are still in the race, with SpringCock LeRoux still there.
The newer mention these days has been Antoine Burban who's apparently having a good season in SF. Haven't seen much this season. 190cm 110kg.
here's a highlight:

Other than that, Vincent Clerc has returned from injury and has been reported practicing, he probably won't be on form for the tournament so our wings will most probably comprise of Huget Médard and Guitoune again.

A lot have been mentioning Hugo Bonneval from SF this year at FB, but I don't think we'll take the chance of changing our 15 for no good reason, and Dulin has been more than satisfying.

The best St Andre can do for the 6 Nations is to select 2 new coaches, getting rid of himself and the other the basque winger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So selected squad:
Forwards: Thomas Domingo (Clermont), Yannick Forestier (Castres), Benjamin Kayser (Clermont), Dimitri Szarzewski (Racing-Métro), Nicolas Mas (Montpellier), Rabah Slimani (Stade Français), Alexandre Flanquart (Stade Français), Yoann Maestri (Toulouse), Pascal Papé (Stade Français), Sébastien Vahaamahina (Perpignan), Thierry Dusautoir (Toulouse, cap), Bernard Le Roux (Racing-Métro), Yannick Nyanga (Toulouse), Damien Chouly (Clermont), Louis Picamoles (Toulouse)

Backs: Jean-Marc Doussain (Toulouse), Maxime Machenaud (Racing-Métro), Jules Plisson (Stade Français), Rémi Talès (Castres), Mathieu Bastareaud (Toulon), Gaël Fickou (Toulouse), Wesley Fofana (Clermont), Maxime Mermoz (Toulon), Sofiane Guitoune (Perpignan), Yoann Huget (Toulouse), Maxime Médard (Toulouse), Geoffrey Palis (Castres), Hugo Bonneval (Stade Français), Brice Dulin (Castres)

No Michalak

PSA, if you are reading this forum, please play Fofana at center!

World Cup next year and France still do not know who will be playing 9 and 10, well played St Andre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I much prefer for us to experiment while we still can and find the half-back combination we find the most efficient now, especially given all the very attractive choices out there who all offer smt different, rather than having stubbornly locked into two names and never looked back.
Personally, I'm waiting to see what the little Plisson can do at int'l level. A lot prefer Lopez to Tales still, so I ought to hold my say on that - but so far Parra-Talès is alright, I personally would like to see Doussain at 9 and still don't know for our no. 10.

P.S.: ANYONE HERE GOT ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT THE YOUNG GEOFFREY PALIS ?!

I like the list. I think Palis is there on goalkicking, though I admit to not knowing him much. Other than him, we have only mediocre goalkickers in Machenau and Doussain (although some people say Machenaud is actually very good). I don't know about Plisson's goalkicking, as he doesn't kick when playing for Stade foomanchoo.

HEY !!! Hope you got your official permit for Stade Trans-francais-mation !! I mean...one doesn't just....well yeh I guess one does.

But yeah that's actually what PSA mentioned about Palis. The goal kicking.
And yes I don't think anyone can grumble at the list. It's when 7 leave the group you'll start hearing some roaring, as always...
And I do like PSA's intent on picking the currently on-form rather than picking in a de facto way, although chemistry is important and our guys need to be familiar, yadi yada..
