[2013 EOYT] France

What's wrong with that? They are french that's all.

And I'm proud of them. Proof that some that the growing racism in the french society is a clamity.

Dulin - Médard, Fofana, Fickou, Guitoune - (o) Talès, (m) Parra - Dusautoir (cap), Chouly, Ouedraogo - Maestri, Vahaamahina - Mas, Szarzewski, Forestier

Remplaçants : Debaty, Kayser, Slimani, Papé, Le Roux, Pélissié, Michalak, Bastareaud

It's good to see Fofana / Fickou start I think they'll work well together.
Vahaamahina was bound to start after last weeks performance.
I've never actually seen Guitoune in action, is he any good?

I know, I know, on paper that backline is 'wuuuuuut!'. Hopefully they fulfill logically high expectations.
Dulin - Médard, Fofana, Fickou, Guitoune - (o) Talès, (m) Parra - damn.

You've never seen Guitoune ?

Check those out, they're all good:

Co-leading the Top 14 in tries scored (while not being on an excellent team, a good team but not excellent where he does a lot of the work) is a pretty big deal.
He's ending up in Clermont or MPellier surely around like next season or smt...no doubt.

My hope: that Rugby follow in the future in a completly way different of soccer!!I love all the rugby team in the world but I prefere my french team and the tiny rugby club of Lucciana in Corsica. Forza Lucciania!

Awesome! We I hope to see some more of that on Saturday then! 

well we sure all did, didn't we ? "Talent d'or" for the match, in his first ever selection in a Bleus jersey...goddamn.
The guy is going to be one hell of a finisher for us, when he gets even more confidence in, more experience and been through many more club and int'l games, get a more acute sense on the wing and more bloodlust for the line...look out.

The main thing is the attack. We allow for ourselves to get in great position, but surely if you close your eyes or leave the room, when you come back 30 seconds later there won't be an extra 5 points on France's side of the scoreboard for some reason.

I'd say definitely a good EOYT overall, despite 2 more defeats and just 1 little win. But Tonga were pesky and rough, and we still managed 4 tries despite mediocre form and flat-out *terrible* movements.
Really an Autumn in the image of our whole year: close results, many, many good elements, surprisingly good stretches, but losses. Just...losses.

I wouldn't even say we've had a bad year, as incredible as it sounds. A defeat is just that little extra and every single match is its own anatomy, its own story. I know it's become a pattern to lose in competitive matches, but it could've gone our way at times. Just didn't.

I'm still proud we managed 3 (out of 4) very competitive matches against the All-Mighty. Threatened to draw in Paris if not for that horrible ball sticking out of the scrum...we had perfect position for a try......

Neither the Blacks nor the Boks could manage a double-digit win over us, and we beat Tonga by 20 and it should've been more.

(triple post)
Just a quick comment on Parra. I'm the kind of person who won't jump to conclusions too fast and force myself to keep calm and give a chance to ppl/things. But not to the point of stubbornness. Parra has given us some fantastic games, he led the XV de France at 10 during the last RWC Final.
But now I do think since we're rebuilding, and with aaaaaaaaaall the (founded) criticism he's been given lately and for the whole year, and in light of some talents who bring more to the table, I think perhaps he's the one important position we still may have to change and experiment with.

Doussain played a full game last summer in NZ and played a great one. He's had good minutes this November as replacement, and added a fantastic dynamic to the French attack in the last 15 against S.A. Parra has committed quite some errors, and just doesn't seem very effective with his foot anymore in-game.
I like Pélissié too. We need to get back to our French style, I'm not saying French flair (well, why not ?) but to feed our backs quick ball, an attack-minded no. 9.

Hey I'm gonna quadruple post lol, not sure why, nobody's replying...but hey, this is important !!

Parra out 10 to 12 weeks. Left knee ligament injury. I'm guessing during the Boks game ? Can't remember honestly, I see a pic of him in a bleus uniform with medics around...totally skipped that.

Anyways: a golden opportunity to play some more Doussain, and then Pélissié or others off the bench ! This sounds horribly mean for Parra, but hey he doesn't post here. Maybe a blessing in disguise for France.......
He would miss at least a part of the 6N. I wanna see more Doussain in Bleu !!!!

Is this the worst year for the French team in living memory? 2 wins, 1 draw and 8 losses. The wins coming against Scotland and Tonga and one draw v Ireland. France better come at least 2nd in the 6Ns next year or otherwise surely it's au revoir PSA; he's had 2 years with this French team.

Damn straight. And no, I don't think it's the worst. Looking at the 8 losses out of 10 tests alone is dreadful, but one must've actually seen the matches to see France weren't horrible, but rather off rhythm but still competitive each time (except the 30-0 in NZ). Seriously, France has been very unfortunate this year.

Yes they've had issues themselves as a team Rugby wise, most certainly, but still: a match in Rome with an Italian team nobody's ever, ever seen for 80minutes. A Welsh team that wins it in the last 7 min that went on to win the ***le. A match in Twickenham with an illegal Tuilagi try. A fired up Irish side we managed a draw against. And then NZ 4 times, 3 of which were very competitive, and one against the Boks.
We would've been crushed by NZ all 4 times and lost big to the Boks if we were the worst in recent memory.

France has three Test matches against the Wallabies next june. Whitewash

 nooo....Australia will probably win one, at least..

Never knew why we haven't selected Marc Andreu a lot more......

Camille Lopez out for the rest of the season with anterior cruciate damage.....................

I think PSA's largest problem is a strange love for Freddie michalak ! France lost to England last year because of machenaud and Freddie . When England were getting stronger with replacements France were crumbling . If they can get it right they have a absolutely stunning team who can beat anyone . I'd love England to have a midfield of fofana and fickou . It actually scares me haha
