2012 England New Zealand

If I recall correctly, Tuilagi said in an interview that instead of the sign being an 'L' it was a 'C' because his girlfriend's name begins with a C, so it's some sort of tribute. Ashton does/did (let's face it, the latter) a similar thing when he scores with some chain-link thing above his head. (See his try against Scotland in the Six Nations this year.)

Big Ewis must have an inferiority complex. If only there was some precedent in France for this sort of thing. Embodied in a French dictator in an English phrase. Ah well...

He did the "L" over his forehead loser sign and a bunch of people including Eddie Jones called him out for it. You don't remember ?

As for the replies on here, yeah, okay......why the fk did I even try this thread...

Check this out, it's a fascinating little story:

Imagine a guy who genuinely wanted information or different opinions on what went wrong for the All-Blacks that day. Like, he couldn't give less of a crap about who won it a year later when all the tensions are gone. One night, he goes on YT and a recommended vid is ENG NZ 2012, and he watches a bit, then the whole second half, then goes to his forum and wants some opinions and facts he may not know.
He totally understands the touchy topic he's about to bring up again, but thinks ppl are intelligent enough to see his intentions and, well, for the ones who do have something actually interesting and original to say about that match, they'd give him something worth his time. He's not a politician, but his time isn't worth complete feces either.
Here's the amazing twist: that guy is me on this thread right now.

yaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwn...

:violin::violin::violin::violin:

Because you really need to change the record.
Every single one of your posts is either singing the praises of the French or slagging off the English, it's tiresome.

yeah but that's not true, man. Hear me out, I'm patiently responding to this: I swear because you're very sensitive, you just remember things in a way that isn't entirely as they are.

I find it almost weird someone would say I "sing the praises of the French", like, what have you been reading from my posts ??...I've called us utter shyt, our attack miserable...etc...
I've recently called Toulouse crap, and I like Toulouse a lot.

As for England, I've praised some of their efforts when need be, constantly say how I think Lancaster is a fantastic coach in my eyes, haven't criticized him once yet...

Man you need to stop with this persona you're overlaying on top of me because it's just not real. Do I support England ? nope. Do I hate England ? nope. Do I look for any flaw to criticize them ? nope.

They did benefit from an obstruction and won by exactly 7 against the Aussies, what more can I tell you ?
They did get the luckiest try against NZ with Read casually forgetting the ball 2m from the line. What do you want me to say ?

Man, you're too centered on things and you should look at my posts in a more general, zoomed out way. You would see I'm not a hater. I've even spent time on the England thread which I've taken the time to compose myself.

And at very least, at very least, you should acknowledge I'm taking the time to go out of my way and address this. Obviously there must be a reason I am. I'm not going to unconditionally hate England and still write all this.
Alright ?

You keep saying you want to hear alternative views on the match. The reason you're not getting any isn't because its a 'touchy' topic (apart from for a few brown shorted kiwis out there!) but that we've all done this to death. Go back and read through the match thread from the time or any threads about England or New Zealand over the last twelve months and you'll be exposed to every possible opinion as to why England won. There isn't really much to say that hasn't been said.

yeah man, but I wanted some more current views. Possibly info that got out to the surface I'm unaware of, maybe inside sources from kiwis they got their hands on in the meantime...
I mean, lol, can I just ask a fkn question ????
Answer: nope.

Answer: nope.

Of course you can ask the question, you're free to ask whatever you like. Just don't be surprised when everyone shrugs their shoulders in response.

Look as Patch has said, this got discussed at length before as you yourself will know since you also on that match thread advanced the view that there was something very weird and wrong with the All-blacks, and forgive me If I'm wrong but I think I recall you being more aligned with the 'All blacks were ill and that's why they lost " camp. Some people agreed, some disagreed, and some sat sensibly on the fence, such is life.

But if you're not wumming in a sophisticated manner, then I still struggle to understand the tone of your post; Do you genuinely think that something mystical, divine happened that day? A glitch in the matrix? I imagine you don't really. However, your narrative sounds like a bad channel 5 documentary, or a conspiracy theory into "what really happened on september the 11th"... You ask if people have any hypothesis, or know any "inside sources" - such things come across as generally bitter and disrespectful to the teams, and I find it rather annoying. You're basically saying it cant' just be as simple as 'one team won, the other lost' and frankly I don't know what sort of answer you were expecting. You're asking what you suggest is just an open question but you're basically supplying your own answer.

You come across as quite polemical in your commentary especially with England - why emphasise that a try was "the luckiest" - intercepts happen, and in fact a well organised and physical rush defence has a big role in forcing an intercept, which you don't seem to understand at all - so , sorry, but get over it, and don't make it sound like a team should apologize for scoring in such a manner. Controversial try? You wouldn't emphasise such things as Tuilagi's 'L' if it was Huget or Fritz crossing the line, and that's fact.

And in general, the way you sometimes talk about the way matches turned out leaves no room for the possibility of upsets - you describe it as the strangest thing when it happens - well yes, that's what an upset is.

in all obviousness, we have a case here. Two things are possible:
- My intentions don't transpire in the posts
- People, esp. the English here, are overreacting to it.

I think it's definitely a bit of both, but clearly there is misunderstanding, and I'm a patient person so here I am again.

* Yeah at the time I thought poisoning. The whole team looked weird and it seemed like a possibility, something perhaps likely even if it sounded really far fetched the second I heard it, I deemed it possible afterwards.
* Then I thought just fatigue for a long time thinking about their performance, reading up, and checking some of it out again. Still think so today, and this thread hasn't enriched me in any way because as Patchey said "Just don't be surprised when everyone shrugs their shoulders in response". So nothing new today in December 2013 for me about this fateful afternoon in Twickers.
* If you think it's disrespectful to England, then you're clearly too proud and can't let go and take it down a notch and try to really look at how the AB's played. In my initial OP, I pay close attention to some particularly strange movements in the game to illustrate the point. I spoke to an English friend here about this many times, and he immediately goes my way when I start with "well...I mean, seriously, they looked terribly strange, didn't they ?" because he has no complex at all. He was happy England played strong, but he's totally down to Earth and immediately concedes it was peculiar to say the least.

So if you think this is me not admitting England beat the AB legitimately, let me stop you there. That's not it. It's closer to detective work if anything, I wish I knew the real reason...and obviously if you've watched every single AB match since around 2011 when their crazy streak started, as I have, multiple times for certain matches, you would find something strange beyond just strange. Something unsettling, almost like they're playing bad on purpose, or they're not really interested, or, most plausible for me, they're exhausted both mentally and physically and on the surface we, the fans, don't know what they've gone through.

I'd say the exact same thing if it were France New Zealand, but if you watch our famous matches when we beat them, all of both 1994's, 1999, 2000, 2007, 2009...they're there and well, it's just France happen to play better and win after 80min.
They don't miss easy tackles throughout the match, miss sitters in front of the post, give away the ball in rucks with little resistance, show major gaping holes in the defense....

And if I come across as "polemical", perhaps it isn't what I'm saying per se, but how YOU read it that's the problem ?

Anyways, I won't get any answers...I'll have to just wish I'll find an unbiased kiwi one day who can give me some interesting info. But forums aren't the place for this, I'll just get very insulting replies or just mild sarcasm in return.

Oi !!

Hey man, I sincerely hope they make a "reconstruction" Youtube vid out of this !! :p :p

- "dude....New Zealand were tired dude....like, reaaaally tired..."
- "but nobody takes you seriously...you're just a hatehh..."

Let's imagine England beat the ABs and the ABs were not off form or anything, how do you expect such a game to look? I think with you there is no scenario in which England could beat the ABs that you wouldn't questions as having something "off". Perhaps the one exception would be 2003, or do you claim that the ABs were off and England weren't superior because England beat them whilst down to 13 men?

Fact is England were better on the day and that is that. Stop trying to find excuses to avoid giving England the credit they deserve and stop playing the victim, every can see right through your mask and I don't know why you even bother pretending they can't.

gee, uh, wanna talk about it, buddy ??......

Yawn. Have you really got nothing better to do?
I don't think he does it on purpose . Sometimes he says things and his heart is bigger than his brain lol . He says he doesn't hate England but he does . Just like when France lose everybody in Britain loves it . When Italy beat France last year I was watching it in the pub I run which was full of Welshmen and nobody was cheering France .

Do you hear Big Ewis sing, singing the song of an angry man, it is the music of a person who will not let England win. When the beaten are in black instead of being in the white, there is a thread about to start when Big Ewis comes.

it's very difficult to put into words the raging stupidity of that post.

He's not going to give it up ;)

doesn't seem like he is ! thought this thing was over since I ain't gettin no intelligent replies on what I'm actually asking for, and ppl have decided who I am without even looking at what I'm actually saying...it's win win !! Nobody wins !...
and yet this shytty thread's still alive.
but I couldn't resist, that was one particularly, frustratingly shyt-stupid comment to have to sit through and read...my shytty side had to reply to it ahem...adequately.

"ERRR DERRR Big Ewis axis of Evil errr derrr England is poor harmless nation WHY HE HATE SO MAAAACH TEH ENGLENDH ERRR"
ffaaah, seriously ? how old's that kid ?

My hate for Englandhh is so infinitely unconditional, I could possibly write a poem with no end to it starting from now til I die about how much I despise England so very mooch.
I don't even know how to summarize my hate for it...it's just...so strong. It's like the sensation of ejaculating. It's too powerful, and nothing can stop you once it's going.

*siiiigh* I just hate England :)
