It's nearly a year to the day my mother was hospitalised before she passed in January
My grandmother died in May
I was on the verge of complete meltdown shortly after that which narrowly avoid by taking some drastic actions.
Two of my uncles are terminal with one not expected to make it in Christmas.

And that's just some of the hellscape that has been 2019 for me, can't wait for the entire damn thing to be over.

Hang in their fella. I have had cancer this year and now on close monitoring, Sister was in a car accident, parents house got burgled two weeks ago and had to show them the house sift through the remnants of what the thieves left. This has been a pretty **** year all year round personally, but still found a away to come through and feel compassion for yourself to get you through it.

To be honest it's not that bad. Got the kids 3 nights a week and we are fairly amicable. Struggling living on my own at first but enjoying it now and the kids are very settled which is the main thing

I guess the question to ask is If Corbyn had stood out as firmly remain would more people have been encouraged to vote for hin that didn't vote because the only party that really said they wouldn't brexit was the LibDem?
Most likely we will get more of an idea of that via voter turnout.

But then again it isn't FPTP.

Hang in there too, whilst I've got a sudden bout nihilism right now. I'm by far not the person who I know who has had the worst year and know way too many who've had similar ones. One thing I take solace in is I have a great community of friends who look after and support one another even some do politically feel a little different.

This and the fact the North of Ireland doesn't get a say at all with their shitfest politics makes this all the crazier. Between negotiations and independence campaigns it's hard not to think that you're barely halfway through the "turbulence" over there. The British and Irish isles are going to look very different in the not too distant future.

Corbyn had several issues from day one even before Brexit.

A pertual rebel within his own party.

Sacking anyone who disagrees with him.

A left wing agenda most of the country don't agree with.

Friendlyness with terrorist groups with no good reasons as was not in position to influence his party, say what you about SF and the IRA on your own personal politics but there are very few British people who have any sympathy for the IRA and most of it pure hatred even if they sympathise with their cause.

real poor leadership by Corbyn. I’m a big fan of his policies but sometimes you have to fight for the win. He has (non legally actionable) duty of his care to the party and he failed them big time this election.

Turns out it's 55 SNP, 1 Conservative, 3 "too close to call" (2x SNP vs Con, 1x SNP vs Lab)
And even the Conservative one is a 10% chance for SNP

Well if the results are anything like the exit polls, this will be marked as the day the UK began to end. Scotland will not stop pressing for another independence referendum as all the assurances that they were sold by the union parties regarding the EU are now invalid. If Westminster don't allow it, we could see a copy of what happened in Catalonia, although I doubt it would die down again as easily in Scotland. Once Scotland is gone, the Union becomes completely pointless. Can't see Wales and N.Ireland staying if Scotland leave.

Whilst the rest of the EU is growing closer together, we are tearing ourselves apart form them and tearing ourselves apart from within. The current mood in British politics and the public is wholly destructive.

Doesn’t Wales have a lot closer ties to England historically?

What result on NI make something changing there more likely? Northern Ireland confuses me. Can’t tell if they like being British or not being Irish more?
